The review could lead us to a Clarkson, Thompson, and Hardwick situation where they kept the coach while giving them a better support team/system.
I hope so. But I do fear Pyke is part of the problem. But as a soft cap tax saving sytem at least give him 1 year clear air on his own to sink or swim

LOL no way, you'd be lucky to get a 3rd rounder.
maybe, maybe not. but if you get a 27 year old key defender who has, in fairness, done pretty well in the past on some big opponents, clubs who need a key defender will gladly part with a 2nd rounder.

who didnt have their colours lowered in our side this season? i have no problem with getting rid of keath or hartigan, depending on who wants to stay. talia/doedee and one of those two is a pretty good spine to build up from.

Hartigan had one really good year, 2016... 2017 he was okish but the last 2 years have been pretty terrible aside from a couple stand out performances. Someone would need to be very desperate to part with a 2nd rounder for him, especially with his foot skills. For the record I hope you are right! I just want to see him moved on so we dont keep pumping games into him which could be invested elsewhere.

Yep I think that could be true. Played 100 games, key defender, 27 years old. That's a pick in the 30-35 range I think.
Only if the list managers in question had never seen him play or were out on the piss all day.

I've already factored in him being crap, if he was good he'd be a late 1st pick with that experience profile.

Anything later than pick 40 is for depth players with little or inconsistent AFL experience

I'd let him go for a 4th rounder.... thus I would consider 3rd rounder a huge win.

Finished politics this year. Then had another baby. Was a research officer before joining parliament at 27.

She is not a suitable candidate.

Get a ****ing professional Chair who has been involved in a football Club for an extended period of time, even if it is SANFL.

I could name 2 people right now who would be brilliant candidates - successful business people, extensive board experience and passionate about the AFC.

My big concern at the moment is that if I was a desired coach of any description (Head coach, assistant, etc...) there is NO WAY IN HELL I would come to the Crows. The entire club is an absolute mess. Pyke's time could be limited. Campo refuses to go anywhere and hence there are limited pathways, your other boss (Burton) is a complete idiot and they are all protected by their mate in Roo. Then you look at those who did come in from outside the club and see what happened there - Teague, Francou etc... I can guarantee they aren't speaking in glowing terms...

The only way the club can move forward is to completely remove the stain on the club and it has to be done roots and all. Otherwise we will be left picking up the scraps of coaches no-one else wanted for a long time.

Forget all the garbage about people not wanting to attract quality talent - this is the primary reason we don't get decent support staff... we are a shit show.

Add in the fact we're overspending to compensate for incompetence, and you'd be mental to come here.

Then Jordan Roughead was an absolute bargain because I'd take him over Hartigan any day.

Footyology podcast took a shot at this lack of change. From the 2017 GF , if you include Smith 17/18 played on the weekend just finished.

They bashed Ross Lyon for not introducing youth - 18 debutants since 2014/15 . I thought that was a high number and I went and had a look , I dont think the AFC passed 12

They mentioned on the broadcast - Dogs have 6 (I think?) players from their Premiership side; they've renewed the list aggressively, and are trending upwards again.

I think 1 of the problems with keeping Pyle now is the club’s ability to actract the assistant coaches needed. A well connected senior coach that can come in and to bring a couple of assistants of his choice seems far more feasible.
We had that with Walsh and with Pyke. The club chose to keep a number assistants already employed by the club instead or seek cheaper options.

Sadly yes. Is it wrong to hope that the review will identify major change required on the coaching panel though, and the club actually acting on the recommendation?

Not wrong to hope, but guys like Burton and Campo are rated massively within West Lakes and you know how the club can be when it comes to listening to outside opinions.
