Not wrong to hope, but guys like Burton and Campo are rated massively within West Lakes and you know how the club can be when it comes to listening to outside opinions.
Had a long chat to an old Westies premiership player today. He's convinced that Pyke can't coach. Also had a gut full of Campo, Hart and Burton. I generally catch up with him every 4-8 weeks. In the past he's mentioned frustration at the game plan etc, but this is the first time I've heard him openly express the level of criticism directly at individuals coaching.

Pyke strikes me as the perfect guy to put in a head assistant role who worries about structures and setups and things of that regard. As a head coach though? Don't think he has the personality or game day nous to get us going, which is why he hasn't been able to turn around the slow descent over the last two years.

Either that, or perhaps as a football department head. I'm prepared to stay open minded though, at least until we start seeing the result of the review trickle down. A lot of people were surprised that both Buckley and Hardwick came out their clubs respective reviews relatively unscathed.

Interesting that Collingwood's review seems have been able to solve just about every problem with exception of their injury list though.

Why on earth would Petracca who still lives at home with his mum, want to come to Adelaide?

If we have supposedly had a hard on for him since drafted.... have they watched him play? He is fat, lazy and makes poor desicion plus misses easy goals he is legit a poor man's Brad Crouch

There are 10 other young midfielders I'd be talking to and asking the question before him

Being a westies premiership player makes him qualified, given that he has never been coached by Pyke

If the review comes back saying we should sack Campo and Burton, we'll ask for a second review

WA mate sent me a trade that just got put up on Perth radio as a possibility

Crows trade: Pick 3, 26 and a 2020 4th rounder
Crows receive from Fremantle: Pick 6, Brennan Cox, Stefan Giro and Ryan Nyhius.

Fremantle want the highest pick possible to get Tim Kelly. Giro

Surely 6 and a sweetener gets it done.

I w oknder if their review said to remove Hart or it was just coincidental timing

That's what I mean. If the review came out and said "They struggle with X, Y and Z and this will prevent them doing their job to an acceptable level" we'd say "let's work on X, Y, Z" instead of finding someone who can do those things.

I get that not everyone we hire will be perfect and will have things they're not good at and need to improve on, but if those things turn out to be the oft-repeated rumours like how Burton doesn't get along well with players and a lot of the coaches, that he micro-manages and isn't willing to listen to outside opinions then things like that can't be fixed. Burton is in his 40's or whatever, those sort of personality traits don't go away. He can say he'll work on them, but you can almost guarantee he'll fall back into the same old habits. But the clubs personal biases to certain people will probably see he gets a second chance, even though the end result is unlikely to turn out to our advantage.
