Two years with a trigger for a third is perfectly reasonable for both.
Don't blame either of them for trying to maximise their deals though.
If we can trade Greenwood for something decent, (late 2nd rd pick), then we trade him everyday IMO. We already have enough inside mids.

Keath I'd be more inclined to keep, but again, if we get a 2nd rd pick, I'll drive him to the airport. We need to refresh with some younger talent.

Must keep Keath and move Harto on with Butts to play some games.next year when we need two true KPD.

I would actively trade Greenwood. He wont get much better, is what he is and we are too slow already. He is not the player I hoped he would be and CEY is better.

have You seen the 13 players they have turning 29 plus next year and on top of that losing kelly, you know that old age cliff we just fell off, the cats are in the car behind us

Sure they're in the car behind us but they have young drivers ready to take over the driving.

Ours don't even have their license

Just hoping we get a better fwd coach so we can play more attacking footy. We have the players here to do that, just need to get out Skills and fitness up in the off season !
Could go for Stevie J then maybe our players can learn how to make the distance when they snap around the corner!

Oh dear

What about the approx 75% of the game time this season we spent without the footy?
What about that 75%? Our players do extremely good impressions of statues when we have the ball, so there's no running offensively. Defensively, they only have to run half as far, because the ball rarely crosses the centre line before we turn it over - so they're only running to the half-way line and back again (not F50 to D50).

Right so its nothing to do with the game plan as you initially said and is to do with fitness/laziness/mindset.

Good of you to correct yourself.

He's played every role under the sun. Other than pressure around the ball, he just hasn't offered enough.
He is a good player.

But our midfield is full of good players. Not great ones.

And he is not a forward. Yes he can mark a ball and kick a goal. But he does not move like a forward up there and he would be in the same space as Fog of played up forward permantley.

If he was really good at a primary role ie insdie physical mid or marking forward he would also be an ideal second Ruck option.

That is the issue isn't it, Crouch Crouch Sloane all good players no one can question that, but we need at least one gun, will Jones be it, or was that gun last year walsh or rozee or stack, there aren't many every year

What drugs are you on? How do you get that from what I've written?

Our gameplan is chip-chip-chip-turnover. We rarely get it past the half-way line before the inevitable turnover occurs. The end result of which is that our players aren't running from D50 to F50 and back again all game - they're running from D50 to the centre line (offensive running) and back again (defensive running). Our players are covering a lot less ground than most of the other teams, and it's a direct result of our gameplan.

The idea of trading for Luko is enticing.

But we really need an elite midfielder and pick 3 should get that.

I do think Luko could be a mid. But that is probably more creative thinking and he is more likely to be a (Adelaide) Tom Lynch type of player.

Trading for him does.not solve one of our primary issues which is midfield class.

All our mids are workman. Greenwodd included.

That makes literally no sense but ok.
So other teams just run past us when they get the ball and our guys stand stationary?

Thats not gameplan.
Thats fitness and will.

Also for over 3/4 of the season our gameplan was bomb the ball forward at all costs.
The chipping began in the last few rounds.

I wish I had a dollar for every time that Kelly, Hartigan, Talia and brown turned the ball over this year with a stupid chip kick across half back. Why our game plan was built to rely on precision chip kicking out of our backline when we have the least skilful bunch of back men is beyond me.

Because we have nobody that runs hard to space, or with the ball.
That result is literally a symptom of the fact that we have no line breakers with speed.

We have nobody besides maybe Lynch who can burn their opponent over a 50-75m effort.

If nobody can get space, where else do you suppose they kick it?

Other teams have players that find space. They dont just stand in it waiting for the ball.
They get there by hard sprint efforts. Something we cannot or will not do.

Other teams probably cover less distance as well, when they're playing against us. However, for them it's only 1 game where they're doing limited running. For Adelaide's players it's happening every game.

Who's the defensive coach?

They cover the same amount of distance as us, just at a much higher pace including substantially more sprint efforts.

I'm trading Keath out, I know it isn't a common view - but I think his form was excellent for about 7-8 weeks, but after that was pretty average, but maybe it was injury affected.

I do rate him as a player don't get me wrong, but I think his value right now, combined with age will never be better - move him on now or in 1-2 years time I bet we have regret we didn't do it while we had a chance.

Remember we have a better version of the position he plays in Doedee who will be fit and firing in 2020, plus we picked up Butts, Hamill, Sholl last year - All of which look promising. Got a feeling we draft Will Gould also this year, so need room for him also.

Heard a rumour not sure how accurate it is but ill put it out there, Gold Coast are keen to take 3 of our players in a package for picks. I was told they are all best 22...

Not sure if this has been heard anywhere so take with a pinch of salt

Yes... but we cover short distances every week. They spend 16 weeks out of 17 running the full length of the oval. We spend 17 weeks out of 17 going up and down half the oval.
