Heard a rumour not sure how accurate it is but ill put it out there, Gold Coast are keen to take 3 of our players in a package for picks. I was told they are all best 22...

Not sure if this has been heard anywhere so take with a pinch of salt
Think David King floated something like that?

Yes... but we cover short distances every week. They spend 16 weeks out of 17 running the full length of the oval. We spend 17 weeks out of 17 going up and down half the oval.

I was analysing stats in our games only.
But keep trying to explain it away as a game plan issue and not a serious personnel and fitness issue.

My fathers at west lakes this morning, Chayce Jones and Ben Davis and assistants in the shop in a huddle, will let you all know if he hears any gossip. Only goss so far is they look sad, nothing surprising there haha. All the boys club walking in he says, Reilly, Johncock just walked in and Stengle has made an appearance, i've asked him to keep his ears open, hope he can deliver some goss.

It's both.

If you're analysing just our games, then they will also have a fair advantage in metres gained in attack due to the fact that they're scoring more goals than us! Metres covered when resetting after a goal don't count, so if we lose by 10 goals and it's 75m from centre to goal line, that's 750m (x a lot of players) that they're gaining when running in attack.

Thats Davis, Jones and Hamill. They all live together I think. Nothing of interest there.

Because we have nobody that runs hard to space, or with the ball.
That result is literally a symptom of the fact that we have no line breakers with speed.

We have nobody besides maybe Lynch who can burn their opponent over a 50-75m effort.

If nobody can get space, where else do you suppose they kick it?

Other teams have players that find space. They dont just stand in it waiting for the ball.
They get there by hard sprint efforts. Something we cannot or will not do.
Nail. Head.

Greenwood, Keath and JJ for pick 1? I'd do it

Eddie Maguire sounded thrilled...NOT.- he even intimated Noah Anderson's father is on the St Kilda Board and he is the son of a premiership Hawk - not sure how well it will work

Still don't see it happening - journalists giving their take. Lets see what the commission say today
Feel GC will be forced to trade a PP (pick 2) for experienced players. We should be offering them 3 or 4 players for the pick. Greenwood, Keath and Jenkins for pick 2 would do. If we need too Betts could be involved as well. Burgoyne looks to be going to gc as well.

Absolutely it's the 2019 game plan that's been the biggest problem, and the dunderheads that devised it of course, and my firm belief that along with what appears to be some deficiencies in our fitness levels and thus the coaches/fitness/conditioning crew are far bigger issues than the players.....you're right though there are certainly personnel issues in both the coaching/fitness staff and the upper levels of the AFC management.

The idea of trading for Luko is enticing.

But we really need an elite midfielder and pick 3 should get that.

I do think Luko could be a mid. But that is probably more creative thinking and he is more likely to be a (Adelaide) Tom Lynch type of player.

Trading for him does.not solve one of our primary issues which is midfield class.

All our mids are workman. Greenwodd included.

We have multiple issues going into next season, it is going to take a few years of rebuilding the list to fix all the issues. If we can solve one this year by bringing in Luko then we do it when we have the chance. We then prioritize fixing our midfield next year when we have another top 5 pick.

Tyson Goldsack retired and moving to adelaide with his wife. Could possibly be a coaching appointment somewhere. Has business interests here apparently.

I've heard he's quite the student of the game.
Unfortunately us as the public really dont know what kinda credentials a guy like him has.

Also need to start trading in some quality. Club should look for good mids who aren't getting opportunity due to midfield depth. Hopefully by clearing salary we can start making some plays.
