I'm struggling to remember a single time "Dougal Howard" was mentioned on this board, prior to becoming a trade rumor, and now some people are carrying on like he's the prodigal son.

How does spending a 2nd/3rd round pick = prodigal son?

• Not everyone thought Thompson was going to retire
• No one thought he was available
• How often do we talk about non-north players? Very rarely unless we are playing them that week, indiscretion, or we are linked to them in some way

Now Thompson is gone, Daw is a relative unknown at this point, Tarrant is 31, and McKay has question marks. Is it really that much of a surprise factoring in all of that and the time of the year? I wouldn't have thought so no.

By that logic, we should only draft the players we've discussed all year. Not in the weeks leading up to the draft.

I've read every post (I assume you have to) and all it's been is stock standard "we are linked to him and what will he cost...yep he'd fit well"

No different to the Aaron Hall trade last year except a bit more exciting because of his age profile.

It’s not like there is much coaching going on at the moment so no reason why he can’t do the list side too plus has 3 new assistants plus 3 dev coaches to assist where need be. After all they are the ones who will end up with whatever is decided now anyway
