(going by Lore's 2020 provisional draft order thread they have only pick 6 & 7 so far)

I think it's an assumption of what they'll get for Saad.

Its assumed it will be from the Saad trade

I think we can be pretty certain the crows will use pick 1 to bid on him.we need to make sure we have the points to cover that.

- we will have to do a player swap with Essendon to get Fantasia (so we can keep the points) - maybe Bonner
- and maybe try and get the Hawks pick 21 (maybe for Garner)
- and maybe trade out another player also (maybe try for North Melbourne's pick 27)

People have a strange sense of how the bidding system works. You dont bid on a player if you dont genuinely believe they are worth that pick and you are 100% happy to take them.

No club is going to risk bidding on a player early just to be a campaigner. It hasnt happened and wont happen

And even when he is worth is clubs don't always bid.

There have been some real sliders.

7 was Carlton's original pick which is now 8. They want that for Saad.

Are the crows going to pick him with 1 or are they paranoid about the go home factor? He is an outstanding prospect. Was very impressed with what I saw of him playing for Perth's league side this year.

We have plenty of points for Jones to go earlier than we want and Schofield to go inside the top 40.

I did a live mock with where I think the Academy players might go and the effect on the draft at that point which worked out like this:

Pick 2 - Ugle-Hagan (I think Crows won't bid on him with 1)
Pick 7 - Campbell
Pick 8 - Jones
Pick 14 - McInnes
Pick 17 - Edwards
Pick 20 - Davies
Pick 24 - Downie
Pick 26 - Walker
Pick 27 - Gulden
Pick 29 - Borlase
Pick 32 - Western
Pick 36 - Brand
Pick 39 - Schofield

We end up with Jones, Schofield, 52 & 53

I think we've got 6 off our senior list at the moment so it might depend on list sizes.

But i'd be looking at:

Phoenix Spicer - Short and raw but lightning quick and capable of turning a game
Zac Dumesny - Solid as a rock utility who can play mid, hbf and hff. Great skills
Nick Stevens

Multiple players found. Use birthday to differentiate. eg [PLAYERCARD="23/11/1962"]Joe Smith[/PLAYERCARD]

- Key defender
Mani Liddy - HFF/Mid with good size, good pace and clean skills
Jackson Cardillo - Another HFF type who's good around goals
Campbell Edwardes - 195cm CHB. Athletic. Strong hands
Henry Smith - 204cm KPF/Ruck. Good at both.
Shannon Neale - 201cm project Ruck
Kaine Baldwin - High quality KPF, but with 2 consecutive ACL's, who knows, he might still be there.

Sound like some good options who if they paid off would fill some long-term needs.
