Little announcement because this is the Draft thread (and some shameless plugging but let's be honest we want this)...
We've just got a YouTube channel and we're creating some videos to put up from next week (interviewing a NAB League coach about players, snippets from our live draft night, draft reviews etc.). Then next year we're looking at creating some exciting content. We want to produce a number of shows (to fill the void left by future stars) and try and really take that area to the next level.
We've been lucky enough to not have to really have any major advertising or certainly any paywalls so it would be appreciated if people could subscribe as it's another way we can keep growing

Yeah I have to admit, that’s ******* infuriating. We should have been working our bums off to get those kind of value picks.
No, this just means we haven't transferred any senior players onto the Rookie list during this period.Guess we have some Rookie Picks as we don't have any Cat-A Rookies

Keane is cat A, Tohill cat B. Not that it really matters as there aren’t any playing restrictions next year. No, this just means we haven't transferred any senior players onto the Rookie list during this period.
Noble,
Tohil
would be on the Cat A rookie list.

Oops. I knew it was one or the other. Must have gotten them mixed up.Keane is cat A, Tohill cat B. Not that it really matters as there aren’t any playing restrictions next year.
Oh yeah I know the picks won't be that, just did it for the sake of simplicity. My understanding is that it’s taken from your next pick, but I don’t believe the scenario you presented can play out.
We need to remember the bids on JUH and Campbell will push things back so a bid by Essendon with their first pick (8) will be matched with our first pick (16) providing a 174 point deficit.
Alternatively a bid with their 3rd pick (assuming they don’t bid on another player) which would then be 10 would leave us with a 49 point deficit after we use 16.
We don’t know the full picture yet, but the post by our Adelaide based friend was an interesting scenario and one that wouldn’t surprise in the slightest given Perkins is likely to figure in Essendon’s picks plus DGB/ Reid/ Cox. Who knows Phillips could be the one to slide all the way out of the top 10...

Yeah, I think the AFL stopped that after Sydney found a loophole to get back into the draft. The Swans found a sneaky draft loophole last year. The AFL just closed it

I had this clever Sydney trade in the back of my mind as an example of what we could do to manipulate the situation to our advantage should an early bid for Reef be made but alas I had forgotten the AFL quickly looked to close this loophole.
For arguments sake if we had entered into a trade agreement with Adelaide and Essendon ended up making a bid I was hoping we could do one trade with Adelaide prior to matching the bid (we trade pick 16, they "hold" 14 for us and give back 22) and then one further trade with Adelaide at the next selection for our future 1st ( they trade pick 9 and "hand back" 14). Of course if we didn't want to sacrifice 22 on matching a bid other alterations could be made.
This article though would seem to indicate this wouldn't be possible even though they're two separate trade deals because we're dealing with the same club again.

Callow looks game readyHopefully there is a mature age forward we can take with a later pick - dare I say it, a Riccardi type.
For every example you give to prove i'm wrong there are dozens proving otherwise.Grundy comes last in the 2km every year. Would you consider him to have poor endurance, or would you say he consistently blows up his opponent with his ability to get around the ground? Maynard was drafted with poor endurance. Cripps was drafted with poor endurance. Hodge was recruited with poor endurance.
You don’t have to turn these guys in to marathon runners. Endurance as a general rule can be improved significantly once a player enters the system.

Apex certainly has that right - Keane has been the Cat A. all along, Tohill the Cat B. I've pointed that out lots of times over the last year or so!!It's the other way around according to 35Daicos, who I think contacted the AFL to find out. When we first signed them we rated Tohill higher, which is probably why we listed him as the Cat A Rookie.
Sorry. I completely misunderstood your post the other day. I thought you were saying that Keane was the Cat B.Apex certainly has that right - Keane has been the Cat A. all along, Tohill the Cat B. I've pointed that out lots of times over the last year or so!!
This is how it was shown in the Rd. 1 Football Record this year:

No worries, mate. I'm pretty sure I would not have said that, unless I was totally pi**ed! If you want to remove your last couple of posts I'll do the same (including this one), and no-one will be the wiser!! I think everyone else has gone to bed!Sorry. Nah it's fine. My stupidity deserves to remain on record. You're right, mate. I'm pretty sure I would not have said that, unless I was totally pi**ed!
