Port’s first pick is pick 25 which will be pushed out again with free agent compo then factor in the NGAs etc it will be around pick 35. So late 2nd early 3rd is around where Borlase is projecting, no?

Then factor in that pick will probably be gone when they match for Jones so their first pick going to be even later.
Port have a deficit from last year. That pick is already starting 5-10 spots back.

I like the sound of Bruhn if we wasn't always injured.

Perkins sounds like he has a lot of upside and could be around the gws pick. Could add a point of difference especially if we go with Phillips.

O'driscoll certainly had some good traits. Just not sure how composed he is. I would like us to prefer football smarts and composure going forward.

I'm still not sure borlase would be viewed that highly. Looks a bit slow imo. He's done well to get league games though. Might be worth a punt bit I don't think it will cost too much.
Agreed .....long strider, finds it hard to turn quickly ...Borlaise's best bet is a FB role, but not sure he's tall enough

Will not surprise if he's overlooked ......but he has some talent, and talls are so hard to project

Edwards was the only ever in contention for a late 1st round pick.
The problem as I see it with Edwards is he's not a very much different player to what he was as an U16, i.e. the general consensus is his rate of progression/improvement has not matched that of quite a few others.

Newchurch is a prime example of why highlight reels should be taken for what they are "highlights".
With Edwards i'm seeing a Luke McDonald

Dad was also not a flashy footballer, no standout skills .....but he could find the footy and was the quickest of the Edwards brothers

I see Luke Edwards similar to Tyson ....has a footy brain, and can find the ball & use it

No sooner than #28 IMO

I hope our first four selections are
Hollands
Thilthorpe
Perkins
Zac Reid

With getting pick 2 for Brouch compo
I like these. If we can trade pick 2 (compo), 2021/2 to Syd for 4, 2021/1 we may well be able to still get Thilthorpe.

Why ? ......if he wasn't a Sth Australian, I doubt the interest would be that high

Peter Wright type ......bad ruckman, not a leaper, and having injury problems already as a tall, is worrysome

Much quicker and more mobile than Peter Wright. Played solid league footy whereas Pete beat up on kids his own age but half the size.

Because Kelly said a week ago he was after some speed (Hollands) and a KPF (Tilly). You can go with McDonald, but is Tilly + 2021/1st better? To me, yes

People get caught up with skills that are OK , but need added more crucial skills ......So he can run, what else ?

At pick 1, or even in the top 10, my requirement is to draft a match winner ......Thilthorpe is not a mtachwinner !

Look at Thilthorpe and then look at the Bulldogs Aaron Naughton .....a bloke with great hands and a leap.....an ability to take a pack mark ....thats a matchwinner right there

Grainger-Barras has it all over Thilthorpe .......who is at best a clone of Kruezer

He's a matchwinner, but it's hard to be one when your team can't win one.

Agreed midfield first ....Hollands

Campbell would be great, but not happening .....and Tanner a possibility depending on medical assessment

It's a bugger that Melbourne have been so bad the last two weeks .....cost us pick 9

They said the same about Coleman-Jones too

There's a reason ruckman types have generally been a end of round 1 pick ......so so risky, and with good reason

Are you prepared to gamble ? ......is Thilthorpe the best fwd in this Draft, because his rucking is sh*t

Agree we need a matchwinner but Naughton's kicking for goal is very average. Has a great leap and is a great mark but not sure if he's a matchwinner. Kicking for goal is a very underrated asset. Part of the reason why McDonald has moved into top 2 draft contention.

CCJ didn't play league footy IIRC. Is he the best forward ?? He's probably behind McDonald in that regard, but his rucking isn't that bad.

More hype .....be careful, things will change a lot coming up to Draft time

Stop it, you're starting to embarrass yourself
look everyone is entitled to their opinion but I saw that kid when he was still just 16 (maybe had just turned 17) play v Sturt at Unley in the league last year - first game from memory and he kicked 3 goals and took some strong pack marks against arguably the best key defenders in the SANFL in recent years in Evans and Stephens. He has played a number of league games this year too. In my opinion this is the lad we need to take if between him and McDonald as he looks to have a very high ceiling and is a local crow supporting lad
