You keep believing that, I'm confident time will prove my original assessments of Smith vs Walsh correct. Being at Carlton doesn't seem to have impinged on Patrick Cripps's development too much or if it has how bloody good would he be playing for a half "decent" club?
Walsh has been given every opportunity to develop his game at Carlton end of story for mine.
As I said swap clubs.
Smith at Carlton would be struggling, Walsh at Bulldogs would be much better than what he is.
He won the RS btw, this year is such a hard year to judge any player tbh.

It's all subjective though, you would take smith, I'd still take Walsh.

Rhys Palmer, Lewy Taylor and Danyle Pearce also won Rising Stars....

Before Max got injured before the draft I had him at 1, Walsh 2, Ben 3.
I knew both would be stars, if I were GC I would've taken both.
Lol they got seduced like most on here from Luko bruise free footy.
I got howled down when at the time I suggested the suns take Ben King and Max King - brothers together = great retention prospects. Time might just prove that these 2 will have the best careers as Rankine can't get over persistent injury and Jack Lukosius has looked ok but not yet really found his feet. What I have seen of the King boys - they are going to make life really difficult for key defenders over the coming decade

An ironic conclusion seeing Hamish followed what was expected in that draft (I.e. Gallucci was a back of 1st round prospect and was picked in the back end of the 1st round).

Still, there was easily enough to Goochs game to be a long term player. Just got damn unlucky to exist on an Adelaide lineup when we were refusing to play youth (there is no good reason for that, and if anyone says anything like "Oh he wasn't good enough", they're lying to themselves as much as you. We opted to try to save Pykes/Burton/Campos job with a cooked Douglas and a Mackay who hasn't been AFL standard for nearly a decade at this point) and then, well, the Achillies pretty ruins any further chances.

if all reports are true Hamish didn’t want galucci but pyke did. All those other guys were picked around the same spot it’s my opinion that we dropped the ball on this one

worse thing that happened was max doing his knee he was on fire that day too

That one was on Pyke. Apparently Hamish wanted English (Given how he’s Developing, will surpass ROB very soon, if not already). However Pyke wanted speed (ie Gooch).

Guess who won?

If Pyke wanted Gooch and Hamish wanted English, who wanted Perryman?

I admit I'm pretty stubborn, but so are you.
Remember Luko? I got smashed for that but I think it's important to be authentic rather than follow with the crowd.
He will end up being as good as anyone

And Smith is already better than Walsh, but let's see how he goes in a hub away from mum and dad.

Haha yep some people conveniently forget we bid on Harry Perrymann before going with Gallucci, mind you GWS were always going to match.

Not sure to be honest. Maybe both were on agreement that Perryman was the best available at Pick 14 (before GWS matched)?
I think that was likely a Pyke directive given English is a very different player to Perryman and Gallucci though I think you could say with some certainty Hamish preferred Perryman over Gallucci
