This is Part 1

The thread is continued in part 2:

That Clark article just says basically if he doesn't play in 2021 he would be gettable. Don't think we should get any hopes up for this trade period (if you happen to like him).
My mates brother is besties with him. Played junior cricket for Aus together. He mention Jordan was pretty keen to come back. Lets hope so.

That feels a bit hairdresser's cousin's dog walker to me but I am going to believe you because it makes me feel good.

So jealous of those ****s that have elite talent in multiple sports. Hook me up with one you ****.

Aish was a very good pick up. He just comes across as Mr professional.

I cant even remember what Phillips looks like. Does he have a mullet?

Id pick Narkle because his name is awesome. Jordan Clark will cost a tonne of bricks.

The one I really want is Bailey Dale. He made his debut against us and he was very impressive. If we could get him over he would be perfect in the Jlo system I believe.

Fremantle are preparing to make a play at Geelong young gun Jordan Clark, with the contracted Cat one of several players on the outer as the club circles several rival stars.

Clark played 18 games in his first season for Geelong, but has struggled to find a spot in the senior side this year along with fellow youngsters Charlie Constable and Quinton Narkle.

He'd be a nice pick-up for you if it was to happen.

Acres, Aish, Blakely, Young, Frederick and Ryan are out contracted players for half back and wing for the next year years and beyond.
Phillips coming in pushes one of those out, even though they aren't absolutely all in the team at once anyway.

Then again, maybe we are horribly slow next year.

To the above sentence...there have been many comments for and against looking to get Phillips and whether he is depth, best 22 or keeping someone else out.

We seldom have that group and others on the deck at any one time and it is very speculative at the best of times to say who our best 22 are given injuries to players throughout a season.

If JL wants Phillips it is a no brainer for me... he will bring other positives along with his footy talent to the club.

Haha the curse of a fantasy dud season. Don't worry I think Josh Dunkley is a dud and forever will be after this season.
i'm never forgiving dew for not playing barlow in 2018 the ****er.

Haha. The dampener is he used to hate freo 😬 I know he’s found it tough going over in geelong away from his mates. Got a few rev ups for putting on too much weight playing fortnight 😂

The Jordan Clark thread on the main board is good for a laugh. WC fans suggesting a straight swap for Brander. So pretty much the equivalent of us offering Banfield, although at least Banners has kicked an AFL goal before.

I didn't mind the look of Brander pre-draft but he's been woeful so far. If they can get a 2nd rounder for him they should start the car.

Jordan Clark is a player I would be very interested in getting to Freo. Would compliment our team perfectly.

TBF isn't Brander a KPP being played as a defensive wing (Masten's old role) or something really dumb like that? I can imagine why he's struggled.

Connor Blakely (or Joel Hamling which ever one they want) and our pick 28 for Narkle & Clarke. Although I like Blakley and Hamling, I owuld be prepared to give them up to get a goal kicking midfielder (Narkle) and a flashy wingman (Clarke)

if they accept Blakely and 28 for Narkle and Clark, Walls and Bell should be charged with a robbery

Please tell me you didn't just suggest Blakely and Hamling have the same amount of value? Please sir, surely you didn't

On top of Ellis and Daniels, Hagger also said the other day that it's mainly next year we have the cap problem because so many big contracts were scheduled to be paid and now we're finding it difficult to offer the likes of Schultz a contract. Could the contracts that are due next year be re-neogitated, so they're still paid the same, just in a different year or spread out over a number of years?

I can see us having cap problems next year. Lobb, Blakely, Hogan overpaid, we traded in Acres and Aish while contracted so have to take whatever salary their clubs were paying them and unlike Carlton, our first round picks are good so you have to pay em 500k.

Even Hamling and Pearce are probably overpaid for games actually played

Been reading a fair few phantom drafts and a name that has popped up coming to us a fair bit is Eddie Ford as a bulky inside mid/medium power forward
There a video of his highlights on Giantroo page over on DT&FA board. I like the look of him. Seems to have a very high ceiling but I think he’s quite inconsistent in his performances. Models his game on Fyfe apparently...
