Cooked must mean different things to you, how many of our players averaged 27 possessions a game this year?

How many of our players missed 7 games this year due to injuries?

270 possessions over 10 games is 16 per game Collingwood played so not having him on the park doesn’t help

First question, quite a few actually.

Secondly, who taught you maths? 270 over 10 games is 27 possessions a game.

I’m a Narkle fan, kids only played 17 games in 3 seasons has great speed and evasion good balance of inside outside game, wonderful tackler applies pressure but his a beautiful kick and decision maker... Knows how to kick goals nice forward & wing role for him...
Yeah I agree completely he’s one we should be adding as an upgrade on some others on our list which is what we need to keep doing, as you say only 17 games and looked really good earlier in the year when Cats played him through the middle, just a great addition and wouldn’t cost much at all comes from same WAFL team as Fish as well and adds more speed in the middle and forward.

I am very bullish on him, did pretty well in some of the scratch matches but will take some time.

Im bullish on our entire squad. Just gotta make some tweaks in trade period. Hopefully we'll get something we can use for LOB and Kennedy and Polson will get de-listed.

Just an observation, the body shapes of the 4 preliminary final teams are completely different to ours. Everyone is muscled up.
Russell seems to have made us more lean, which meant we were better than most running out games. Or is it that we just haven't done enough pre seasons?
In the rough and tumble when the umpires put the whistle away, is it strength or stamina that wins?
I can't see our list looking phsyically like the Cats in the next 2 years.
No doubt Russell is an expert but we seem to be on a different path.
Will this be a factor?
CB
Due to COVID the games were a lot shorter this year.
May be back to normal next year, who knows?
Reduced game time was a reaction and not the AFLs plan.

Would you take this deal Oliver and future 3rd for pick 7 and a future 2nd and Kemp?

I wouldn't. Kemp could be anything. Unless he was exclusively a SOS pick, I don't think we recruited him knowing he'd be out for a year and then trade him out sight unseen.

Kemp is one player Carlton won't trade under any circumstances.

If Oliver were to request a trade, the starting point would be 2 x first round selections.

What do we all think of Dow? Does anyone think he could have a similar surge in output to Jobe Watson in his 4th year / Josh Kennedy (Syd) in his 5th year? I've still got faith that he can develop into the player we're hoping him to.

I do.

No way known. Why would be give away a player that was touted as a potential number 1 pick before his injury. We took him knowing that he needed 12 months rehabilitation. You don't give him away before he even plays a game.

I would be happy to get Oliver but I wouldn't even be open to a straight swap of Oliver for Kemp at this time.

In the scenario that Oliver requested a trade to Carlton, I don't think we could do any more than offer pick 7 plus next year's first (possibly with another pick coming our way).

Would Melbourne be willing to accept those picks in the hope of then dealing them for established players from other clubs? Because if not I can't see a deal being done.

Well people are saying he was injured all year- if true, hopefully he gets fit and strong for '21. Showed a bit in his first few games a coupel of years ago - and maybe he now knows AFL career isn't a certainty - irrespective of pick position. Not one of SOS's better uses of such a high draft pick- I am sure the Club was hoping for much more exposed form...similar question marks over Stocker and LoB - all three you'd think were pencilled in as future starting players for the Club. Not confidence inspiring any of them.

Yes.

He's only just turned 21. I still very firmly believe he'll be a terrific footballer.

Any talk of trading him now is just nonsense IMO.

More confidence in Stocker than Dow or LOB. IMO, the likes of Dow, LOB, Cuningham etc will prove depth players. Even SPS is borderline best 22 IMO. Nothing wrong with being depth players, but id say, we missed badly with Dow a pick 3 and LOB a pick 10 at this point.

Fair call. I still have faith in Cuningham (played through midfield) and SPS (played through midfield and half-forward), and really like what I saw of Stocker early days.

LOB gave me a Jimmy Toumpas vibe when I first saw him play, in that I was shocked that he was drafted so early. Haven't seen anything since to change my mind, won't make it imo.

Dow has more scope to contribute but he needs to get a defensive side, which is currently non-existent.

Kemp is damn exciting but he is nowhere near that big of a talent.

Has raw talent but I dont think he wants it.

Which is fine, footy loses a lot of the fun aspect when it becomes a fulltime job. I think a lot of the kids have this discovery, some adjust some dont.
