why would india want a dead track?

deny yourself the chance to save an away tests series and deny yourself the chance to pick up the championship points?

Say what you like about kohli but he plays to win and will want a result track.
Kohli might but all of his teammates don't act like it. If they see a result wicket they'll get upset and sook

The bowlers won’t, and I’ve literally given you examples in THIS THREAD of the other two senior batsmen having thrived in tough conditions against good attacks.
Rahane? I've never seen such a scared little batsman in my life aside from Shaw. How exactly has he thrived overseas against top seam attacks? Id wager he's scored a ton in SA and Oz and that's pretty much it.The rest of the time he's probably scoring huge runs against the windies away and in the subcontinent away from home. Take those SA and Oz tons away he's probably averaging 28 odd in our conditions. He's a nobody whose never helped India win an overseas test against a good team

Who? Pujara averages 33 outside of Asia. While Rahane may average 45 outside of Asia that’s greatly inflated by his 514 runs at 108 in the West Indies who to be fair haven’t been that competitive for a while

He averages 44 in Australia, 58 in New Zealand, 53 in SA and has a century in England.

Christ TRY and do some research.

See above.
Rahane averages 44, 58 and 53 respectively in Aus, NZ and SA.

I even pointed out in the original post that Pujara WAS garbage in SANZE nations but has since been man of the series in Australia and hit big hundreds in each of England and SA.

While it may challenge his technique and skill level, green deck in NZ is hardly likely to make him scared now is it.

Pujara having a good tour aside of Asia is an outlier you can’t rely on him and his career average shows you that.

Rahane well not knocking him but he has a solid start to his career but you wouldn’t be relying on him. If Kohli fails they are cooked

Aside from improving and hitting centuries in countries he’s previously struggled in, what is Pujara supposed to do?

If a bowler gets tonked mercilessly in two tours to a country but then comes back and over his next tour or 2, takes 30 wickets at 25, he’s still going to have an ordinary record there but he will have proved he can play there

Christ calm down for goodness sakes rain man. Our tracks are incredibly flat. Pakistan's number 9 scored a ton here last year so well done to rahane. I've never seen him do anything outside of the windies to help India win a match so I'll reserve judgement thanks

Hahahahaha he had one good tour in Aus, since he left Aus he has averaged 28. To say you can rely on him all around the world is simply not true in the slightest

When you're done counting cards with Tom cruise shouldn't you be at home watching wapner? Oh and btw how many toothpicks come in a toothpick case?

Yes and aside from this test match all those matches have been either in India or the West Indies.

NZ and WI are the only countries where he’s not hit a century so it’s not like he isn’t capable of doing it. And even if he had hit a hundred in the WI, it wouldn’t really alter the argument would it given their general status in the cricket world

Really? That’s it? Someone waves some stats - from a stats based game - in your face and you need to start calling someone Rain Man to enhance your position

At least Seedsfan seems to have a grasp of the game and provides evidence for his views even if I disagree with him.

Let the adults talk please.

Just shows where he is at, the only way to describe his effort in the last test was horrific.
