Bickley just now: "You have a short memory. This time last year the Adelaide crows was the happiest place on earth and look what happened. If you want fun, join the circus".

Haha up there with his best comments.
Was it the happiest place on earth or is that just what the club wanted everybody to believe? Either way Bickley is absolutely full of shit.

The players just want a professionally run club that maximises their chances of winning a flag during their career, that doesn’t mean hiring your useless mates that send you on a poxy camp and don’t take ownership

Bickley is full of shit. But is that just what the club wants everybody to believe again? That's the point.

Seems like they're trying pretty hard to get a certain message out.

Yeah the club has basically no subtlety at all. Whoever runs our PR dept. must think our fans are absolute morons.

At least compared to a year ago, they actually bothered to make some meaningful changes to the footy department. So while it's too early to champion the new regime, at least it actually is a new regime. We can at least expect things to be different now, for better or worse. In Crows world, they call this progress.

True enough but which players are we talking about exactly? I'd say in 2019, some of the older guys cared more about getting games than doing what was best for the club. Look at Jenkins for example. His form was absolutely putrid at the start of 2019. He was missing shots from the ****ing goal line and somehow he still felt betrayed when he got dropped. It's this kind of entitlement that we need to stamp out.

If I was Nicks, I'd be putting all the older guys on notice. If they don't deliver, get rid of them and don't **** around either. We can't just assume we had a few bad eggs in 2019.

I think we started weeding out the ones that think they are “entitled “ to games at seasons end, if it didn’t ring a bell with those left they will be next

I hope it sent a message. I heard Talia being interviewed at the Royal Show before the review etc. and he was saying the senior players need to take their share of the blame for what was happening at the club. I was kind of hoping they would make him captain instead of Sloane because he seems more like the kind of bloke who would instill discipline in his players.

I think Talia has a pretty big say doesn’t need the bid C but nothing wrong with him wearing the title, I think this year he will have a bigger influence with who has exited with a bit more confidence

Talia would've been an inspired choice as captain. Agree with all you've posted on this. Blight was talking tonight about how we don't need a culture and welfare officer. Made a big show about how it's on the senior players. Yes, he's senile, but on this point he's right. Culture is mainly driven by coach and especially senior players.

Any organisation you join as a young man you chiefly look up to your senior colleagues as a guide. They show you how serious everyone is and also what you can get away with.

We've clipped a fair few of the main senior sooks I reckon so hopefully those that are left can instill the required culture.

Our like-for-exact-carbon-copy-like-with-no-wriggle-room policy is another remnant of the old regime. Will be interesting to see if Nicks subscribes to it too

Doedee back too balances our defence nicely.

Doedee is your intercept maker right? does he do much rebounding or is that passed off to the faster guys like Laird and Smith out of the back 50?

He doesn't really run with the football at all

He's a reasonable kick but again not someone who'd start rebound himself with a long, precise kick upfield.

He's more the intercept and hand off guy like you suggested

Back half of 2018 he was really pushing forward, even snagged a goal or 2.

Reckon that's the biggest thing he will add to his game.

As for the leadership group they all make sense to me. People have a query on Lynch and his role moving forward which is fair enough, but he doesn't have to be playing every week to add value to the group.

I find it interesting Tex and in particular Tals decided to remove themselves..... to me that shows leadership in itself.
