I can't speak for Abers & Keilor but can absolutely speak for SFC. While Strathmore attracts a lot of players from other clubs coaches are forbidden from actively 'recruiting' players from other clubs. Similarly, we don't stand in the way of players wanting to leave. That all said Strathmore player retention is extremely high. Anyway, wrong forum

All good. I actually played for them when I was a kid.

Abers & Keilor are shockers. Keilor have been doing it since the late 80's.

I'm not going to shitcan other blokes in the process, and also brings something as a personality around the club.

One year player/asst. coach contract would be fine by me. He's a seriously smart footballer.

Don't think i shitcaned those guys, just believe he'd add more value than the 4 i mentioned. I actually think Atley and to a smaller extent Mcmillian still have a role to play going forward.

The way I see it, Rhyce could show most AFL defenders a thing or two when it comes to footy smarts, not just some of ours.

ROO TO TEST MARKET FOR BROWN

BEN Brown wants to remain at North Melbourne to finish his career as a one-club player.

But the Roos will almost certainly explore at least what they would get in a trade for a player who kicked more goals than anyone in footy in 2017-19.

The Roos have paused talks on his contract ahead of meetings in the off-season, the likely outcome is that both parties will look around to see if there are suitable options for him.

North Melbourne’s exit meetings will come next week given the Roos finish their season on Friday.

With many players leaving the club’s hub on Friday morning, they will play a game, have an exit meeting 12 hours later, then be on their way to Queensland holidays.

Others who are not in the team will have their exit meetings before Thursday, with 23 players out of contract.

North Melbourne’s issue with Brown, apart from his dramatic tail-off in form this year, is his style of play.

Rhyce Shaw wants to play a contested style that includes plenty of pack-crashing and one-on-one contests for forwards.

Brown is a one-trick pony with his mark-and-lead style, but what a trick it is.

The issue for North Melbourne is finding a suitor that allows them to find a replacement as a key forward, whether a mature-ager or a young kid to groom.

As they have been warned, there is no point trading a 27-year-old who should be at the peak of his powers for an early second-round pick who could become a trade bust.

Ben Jacobs’ career will come to a close given his medical issues, but there’s no word yet on the likes of Majak Daw, Ed Vickers-Willis, Jasper Pittard, Marley Williams, Paul Ahern and Sam Durdin.

Williams ran past an errant handball that eluded him late in the loss to Port Adelaide and showed no inclination to chase Ollie Wines as the ball turned over in a damning passage of play.

It was not good timing for a player attempting to save his career.

The old "almost certainly at least" card.

Why not just admit that the 3 of them can't fill a half page article with anything approaching journalism?

I'm stunned that these idiots have a job.

Anybody can make statements like almost certainly. May as well said could be, might be, maybe.......

Does it really take three journalist to write this stuff?

And the headline will be "You'll never guess which AFL STAR could be headed to an English football powerhouse"

Only to find out Will Walker bought tickets to see a Sunderland game.
He could just snag a couple from Mass Luongo and go and follow some blue and white wizards 🙃

It depends on who you ask. Nathan Buckley didn't seem to think so.
He's still chasing a premiership though isn't he 🙃 Is there a record for missed premierships due to sliding doors moments?

Snake the will-o-wisp Ashley Watson half forward flanker or Snake the hard-as-nails back pocket ?

Not quick, not highly skilled, didn't mind it when it rained.......Join the dots.;)

The club most people disliked unless you played for them - Doutta’s

I think we may have.

Hicksy & Coutta were mates of mine, but I haven't seen them for years.

Yeah, you might be a year older than me, my brother was mates with them.
Coutta was one crazy man.

He liked it hard, but he mellowed right out in later years. I knew him since we wore nappies.

I reckon Ashley could have been a star in the AFL now, if he was born 25 years later. A seriously skilled footballer.

Coutta would have been turfed out of the Calder Cannons pre-season trials.:D

Definitely right about Ashley, I was mates with his younger brother Scott (who passed away this year sadly) who also should have played AFL but loved the beer more.
We grow up in the same street as coutta, he definitely didn’t mellow, unfortunately liked the substances in later life which stuffed him up
