Kamala Harris went big on Kavanaugh and also said Biden committed sexual assault.

Sounds like something she is passionate about....until a VP ticket comes up.

She comes across as someone with zero core values. This is why her run at President crashed before the primaries after starting out as favourite.

I wonder what Bernie's supporters will think when Biden pulls the pin in 12 months for health reasons and Harris is President despite bombing in the primaries!

Realistically VPs are always picked for certain attributes that are supposed broaden the appeal of the ticket. Its seem poor taste that the Dems were shouting for months it had to be a black woman and in some ways that almost seems to unfairly undermine her qualifications for the job. She's hardly a surprising choice in any event.

They like their own identity politics. Just don't like other people's
Correct. The same is true of political correctness. They'll scream and shout about not being able to make racist statements or jokes, but express anything besides slavish devotion to the flag, veterans or tradition, and suddenly policing people's words is A-OK.

I wonder if non white countries care about the race of their politicians as much as our media manipulates us to?
Are you implying the US is a white country?

As for non-white countries, plenty of them legislate for guaranteed representation of minorities, such as India and Pakistan. And the ethnicity of politicians is a huge issue in many African countries, because they don't want one ethnic group gaining economic and political hegemony over the others. It's been the cause of many uprisings actually.

Fiji is another cracking example as well.

Why do you assume that's the reason, when Harris is no different to everyone else who was running? All of them, besides maybe Sanders, are sociopaths who would sell their own mothers to gain political power. Most people don't get to the stage of running for president without having that naked lust for power. The same is true of the Republicans, again with occasional exceptions like Huntsman.

Do you find it coincidental that conservative politics is full of predominantly white men? Do you think people only care about diversity because the media reports on it?

It's a very odd thing you are wondering here.
Works both ways. 95% of black people vote democrat. That leaves just 5% of a black demographic that makes up just 14% of the American population who would be theoretically available to join the republicans. Not exactly a big pool to choose from hey. Perhaps if black people were more diverse?

It only became 95% when the GOP put a fat orange racist as it's leader

You don't get to join the tiki torch club, and then sook that black people won't support you any more

Do you ever wonder why most black people, women and Latinos vote Democrat? I can assure you many of these people are inherently conservative, they've just been ****ed over by the right too many times to trust them.

...
You're using so many buzz words to go after me, yet the big point is still that Biden and the Democrats thought that the American people would be duped into feeling good about themselves voting for a black woman - and you're showing it to the be true.
...

lol, still :tearsofjoy:

But Trump didn't 'dupe' the American people into feeling good about themselves voting for a religious guy, oh me oh my no :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

That would actually be a step forward for Taylor, she's that far out in orbit on this topic.

Something tells me she'll stick with Biden politicking VP pick bad, Trump politicking VP pick fine :tearsofjoy:

Taking the moral high ground on racism, applies racism to choose VP candidate - nobody bats an eye.

...

Yep. The response here to Biden's VP pick in support of a stock standard election strategy by Taylor and others is legit mind blowing :drunk:
The media aren't manipulating people into thinking about racism, the politicians are using it.

Lets look at the facts here, Democrat cities have some of the worst numbers of black on black murder in the country, going by both totals (but city numbers will) and rate per 100,000. Constantly the Democrats talk about how they want to make life better for African Americans, Republicans are bad etc.

Yet they have been in charge, fixed nothing. They only even go after the guns when it's rifles and white people dying.

Then they go and throw in a black person as VP as another "we've got your interests at heart here" to scam them into voting and again nothing will change.

It's made into an issue of race because it keeps black people looking outward to find an answer to their issues and the Democrats are right there saying they will help and the other side are bad, meanwhile they are in charge already and haven't fixed it.

...not to mention that the reason America has to be inherently racist is because if it isn't then the people in power and the wealthy are responsible. So you see the Democrats getting behind that message, you see big business getting behind that message all so nobody turns their attention on them because it's them not changing the laws, it's them not cracking down on violence, it's them not employing black people.

rofl

Perhaps you could explain why Pence got the nod over the more popular Rubio and Cruz? Noticed you didn't touch that one yesterday despite me mentioning it to you twice :tearsofjoy:
I did speak about it. I said when most of the people in politics are white men you're odds on to get one and I don't think Trump ever said he intended to narrow the field down to just white men.

Not picking someone of colour doesn't make it racist, specifically choosing a person of colour is racist.

To follow on from this, exhibit A of how the right alienate moderately conservative black people:

Here, we see a conservative black man raises a nuanced point about the unpaid labour of college athletes, saying either they should receive the benefit of their work, or they should give their labour to a college that actually does something for minority communities. But Fox News and their viewers don't care about the welfare of the black community. So the host just brushes over his point, spouts some nonsense then takes him off the air.

The authors of this video are correct, the American right only want black people who don't care about the rest of the black community, and will spout establishment talking points wholesale.

If the Democratic National Convention was still up for grabs Harris would be throwing this nomination back in his face and telling him that she is a strong, capable woman who doesn't need to be selected to fill some quota to try and dupe the American voters into choosing another old white man.

...and she would be right.

She would go up in the polls and Biden would sink.

But the ugly side of politics is that is Trump says it there will be responses like "well where's your token black person" "at least Biden had a token black person" etc etc

I wasn't aware politicians commonly made VP picks while their nomination wasn't effectively confirmed, especially when those picks are fellow candidates who are still in the race.

Taylor puts her foot in her mouth again. White people attaining high positions is through merit, but racial minorities doing the same is racist affirmative action. Good show.

Biden specifically chose a person of colour for the role. That's the definition of racist token appointments. People should be insulted by this, specifically Harris.

Content of your character, not the colour of your skin.

Decided by the colour of your skin = racist.
