Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.

Another pick under 15 would be brilliant this draft. Under 12 would be even better. Next year our first pick may not be until 10 or above so this is the year to go hard and get a 2nd early.

It would be even harder to trade into the top 10 next season with our top liners with another 12 months on the dashboard.

Hope we manage to snag another top 12-15.

Possible pick swap we can try to entertain if we can't use (or trade for better picks) the picks we can get out of TOB, Hanrahan or Howe (assuming they leave).

Collingwood currently have 1707 draft points.
In order to successfully match a bid for Daicos they need 2400 points if Daicos is bid at pick 1, at pick 2 that’s reduced to 2014 points.

"But The Age reports the Magpies will target third and fourth-round picks from other clubs - for reference pick 40, the first in the third round, is worth 429 points - and are willing to trade out future second or third-round picks."

It also mentioned in the link that
"Meanwhile the Western Bulldogs, who need points to match a bid for father-son prospect Sam Darcy (likely to fall in the top five), are eyeing Richmond’s picks 26 and 28 in a trade for their pick 17."

Jeez if the tigs end up with three first rounders in their one yearour of finals in a hot minute that would be an incredible result for them.

So you’re content with the present list composition and our list management approach of trying to top up for a flag which resulted in one finals appearance in 5 years with zero finals wins. We shouldn’t at all consider a change in tact?

Nope, not content with either the list composition or the approach of top up when clearly we need more. Need to be better.
Definitely for change.
1. Sam
2. Make sure your talent evaluators are the best in the land. If we don't have them, get them.
3. Far less tolerance of player form being barely adequate. Drop whosevers arse isn't at the level required, regardless of whether there's a 'better' option in the 2's.
4. Reward dare, reward courage, reward spirit, reward 1%ers.
5. Be willing to change game plan mid game or earlier if tactics are unsuccessful. Don't put everything on the players to find a way, it's the coaches job to put them in position to have success. Play to players strengths, don't have them simply fight to minimize their weaknesses.
6. Get a freakin goal kicking specialist to spend serious bloody time making ALL of our players more dangerous aground goal, and give adequate training time to the practice.
7. As weakness of the list and what cannot be done with the players already on it are revealed to Sam, begin the planning immediately for that change so that the Club can act on it at every draft and trade opportunity.
8. Get a new President to unite change behind.

Oh, and NAIL these 2021 freakin picks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They didn't have one last year so it's not that incredible, 26+30 for 19* isn't that appealing for mine, given the equal spead of talent and the covid affected draft.
I think the main reason why I think it's better on paper than in execution is I feel Richmond has done better with their rookie picks than they have with their ND picks.
I would be pretty stoked if we took three first rounders into a draft- even if it's compromised- because I back our team in in a big way.
That being said 21/24 is a pretty good hand in the second round.

It will be a future 2nd round for Howe.
This is good.

I'm not opposed to getting another future 2nd or 3rd and dangling it in front of the Lions with Cegs for their future 1st, as they're going to need points next year for Will Ashcroft who is a projected top 5 pick next year.

GWS pick 2 + Cogs for our pick 5

I am not sure if its a good trade for us or not but I can hear Cornes revolting.
Gotta hold 5. Moving up is for clubs that are looking to find a specific player in the draft.

We are in need of as many 'looks' at the top end as possible.

Essendon will need points as well, might be able to land their future first... hopefully they over estimate their year, might be an easy top ten pick.

If Tigers end up with 7, 15 and 17 they're going to be throwing at least one of those picks at a player that they think can take them back to the big dance for the next few years.

Yes and no. Our midfield is pretty dire and this is reported to be a draft with 20 odd good midfield prospects, so I agree we need as many looks as possible. But what we need more than anything is that absolute elite talent that premiership sides have. I don’t know the prospects well enough but if the club is of the view that Callaghan is a level above the field and can be that absolute top level player, it’s a move I want us to make.

With Giants reportedly keen on Andrew there is an opportunity there if we think there is meaningful separation between Callaghan and the next group of mids. Twomey’s reports indicate some clubs think that way at least

yeah, but imagine if you could add Callaghan AND Ward to the middle. That would set us up.

it is a pipe dream though.

I think Phillips is expendable. He didn't come over to be depth and playing at Box Hill next year. Any grumblings, we blame Clarko as he and his vision is now gone.

He should be overtaken by our youth as early as next year I hope.

Draft rules permitting, as he's just been traded in and only 1 year into his contract, but..

If GC are silly enough to part with McPherson AND 19 sheesh, then how about Phillips to them for Mac and 19, maybe some other pick swaps in our favour to boot. Or package him up with any of TOB, Howe, Hanners and see where to from there. GC could do with hard body. This is on the proviso we like Mac.

I still say 7 for Mitchell with us paying a huge chunk of salary is on the cards. Got to the draft with 15,17,25* after picking up Mitchell

Essendon will be all over the Ben King option. They wouldn’t be trading out their first.
