Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.
Done ✔️

Clubs are keen to get multiple decent picks in the door and some on here are still puzzled why there are those of us keen to see more picks if it means sacrificing a high quality player. Talent is clearly there in this draft pool - I hope we can get amongst it!

For all the deals that other clubs have done, we've still got the 4th best draft hand. Just to keep things in perspective.

Can we do a deal with Gold Coast? They are giving stuff away.

Maybe we pay a player to go there and ask for pick 3, Rankine and Hollands.

We might have to throw in a future 4th but I would be OK with that.

No thanks. As soon as we show a glimmer of interest Cochead will get involved and demand 2 first round picks for McPherson

reckon it would come back to what the Swans are willing to offer. If Hawthorn are putting up 24 as suggested in here are Sydney actually going to offer a first to beat it to get inside Hawks offer? Doubt it. If hawks aren’t offering a second and offering a future pick then it might make Swans more interesting for Port
They're not interested in Ladhams and have no need for him. They are trying to make us pay overs for him. I just hope MM holds his nerve.

Fremantle doing some great business so far.

Look likely to gain Clark, Brodie and take 2 top 10 picks into the draft.
Plus add in 19/22 (whichever isn’t used for Clark) and 25 (from Carlton).

Not even two years ago they had picks 7, 8 and 9.

Freo are building a scary team

Before trade period I thought (not hoped) that Hawthorn might get a new backup ruck, maybe lose a couple fringe players and add a Sier/Lonie level player. Then head to the draft.

Haven't seen anything yet to change that.

Not saying it's bad - just hoping it gets even better.

Seems like pretty generic insight really. Same thing has been repeated by multiple reporters. Feels like they are maybe more hoping this happens so they have something decent to report on.

I think most clubs would at least listen to a trade offer on most players… doesn’t mean anything will ever eventuate. Sounds like we’ve been open and honest with the players and we’ll do what’s best to get us back to contending in the next 3-5 years.

So - hypothetically, what would we want IF any of these players were to be traded?

Wingard? He could turn GWS into a genuine contender. Pick 13 plus some upgrades if we need to pay part of his salary.

Mitchell? If he wants to go to a contender, then pick 7 from Richmond would be the best outcome. If he was willing to go to Gold Coast then we ask for pick 3. He is a much better player than Lachie Weller.

If we dump these guys for 2nd rounders I would be disappointed... unless we land some really big fish as FA's next season. This can never be guaranteed in the AFL world.

It blows me away that we've seen a high profile trade like the Cerra one getting done in such good faith, so early in the trade period. When was the last time we saw a deal like this go through with as little drama?
Absolute kudos to Carlton and Freo (looking to have a trade period akin to Sydneys draft hand last year)

It's actually good to see a couple teams not stuff around being stubborn and just get a fair trade done quickly. Could have been a deal that held others up if they wanted to haggle over it.

I could still maybe see some of freos draft bounty end up with us via neale to freo, Mitchell to lions. Doubt it, but if it happened I would not be surprised.
