Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.
Done ✔️

Trade 5 and 24 for 7, 16, 28 (might have to throw in a bit more - maybe a future pick swap).

Get lucky and Erasmus still there at 7

Get even luckier with Sinn still available in teens - use 16 and 28 to slightly upgrade and get Sinn.

Keep our lucky streak going and use 21 on Chesser.

Erasmus,Sinn, Chesser. Complements our exisiting group beautifully. A future inside bull with ability to play as 3rd tall up forward + two players with elite speed and skills (but also size) with midfield potential (more likely Sinn).

That will change once we start winning games. We have the culture and the facilities but free agents want glory - not just a nice training environment and a paycheck.
We’ve only had two free agents in our history though. And we’ve won 3 flags in that time. And only one free agent was good (Frawley).

We just seem to struggle to attract free agents. Success or no success.

Monday night pick trade scenario!! 🥸

Hawks future 1st to Freo for Pick 8.

Pick 8 and 24 to Lions for 14 and 18.

Pick 5, 14 and 21 to Giants for 2 and 13.

effectively turned our future first into a pick upgrade on all of our 3 picks that were within 25.

Pick 2, 13, 18.

Take the 3 Sandy boys, Callaghan, Sinn, Chesser.

Class, Speed and X factor. Done.

I love how you have fully embraced hypotheticals this year 😂

I'm also getting the feeling that we might slide back if who we prefer is gone at 5.
Reckon there’s more chance we want more looks at the top 10 than less.

I think in this particular draft trading up gives less value than the trade back play. The names Chesser and Sinn you mentioned, have great traits and big reputations but just haven't put it together over the two Covid years. A big gamble to trade up for names like these.

There seems to be a consensus from draft media reports, the first 4 stand out (incl. Father-sons) and then the next 8 or so are in a tier below that, but after pick 12/13 and the range of blokes like:

Taylor, Knevitt, Van Rooyen, MacDonald, Clarke, Bazzo, Wilmot, Sheldrick, etc. etc. The names in this tier are quite even and there is good mail that between picks 13/14 to pick 40 is throw a blanket over them type stuff, where recruiters could have completely different talent orders.

This is the year where it is quite possible to get players you rate Top 20 in the 30s. I reckon we will take five picks and I reckon we will try and leverage a pick somehow in the mid-draft range, either by trading futures in or splitting 24.

Unless our future first gets us into the Top 4 players (i.e., Callaghan) and keeps us with a Rd1 next year, trading up doesn't make much sense imo

I would rather use 5, 8, 21, 24 at the Draft if we got that first trade done

Would give us a huge talent hit. Surely GWS and Freo say no though.

Freo would want 21 and probably 24 thrown in.

GWS would say 5 and 14 for 2 or no deal.

If we want Callaghan 21 and 24 for 14 then 5 + 14 for 2 keeps our future first plus Callaghan. Though it’s very much eggs all in one basket for this year.

Heres another for ya hahaha

Hawks: 5, 65, future 3rd
WCE: 10, 29, future 2nd

2021 draft: 10, 21 24, 29

That's a pretty good pick slide trade.

WCE get to the pick of the top WA talents or take a Hobbs/Ward in front of Freo.

We can take a slider or pick off a 'type' i.e., sinn or NWM.

And we get a huge talent injection of 4 players under pick 35, plus a sneaky little upgrade next year.

Don't mind it.

What about

Pick 5 and 21 or 24

WCE Pick 10 and F1

This would likely play out as

WCE two top ten picks
Haw pick 5 and 21/24.

Would love to get my hands on WCE future one because they could fall off a cliff next year.
Hard to see West Coast pulling the trigger on that unless they were very very keen on Erasmus which i don't think they are.
