Billings would definitely give more than Prior or KColeman but not sure if he’s worth the salary cap space.
Maybe Prior, but I think Kiddy Coleman will be a better player than Charlie Cameron. He has all the talent in the world and once he gets enough experience in the main team, he will become almost, if not elite.

I’m all for optimism but that’s a BIG call. I hope your right.
Charlie Cameron really didn't come into his own until he came here. Kiddy has shown more in his initial years than Charlie, and there is no reason why he couldn't become a better player. He has the tools to become an elite small forward and years into the competition, i'm sure he will become that.

I disagree. He plays very outside for the Saints and is certainly not a clearance player but his contested possession numbers are consistent with most wingers in the competition many of whom go into the clearances more than he does. He is a receiver in these situations and he has very nice skills especially delivering into the forward 50. The forwards would love the step up in service they would get coming into them. His tackles numbers are equivalent to McCluggages and better than the likes of Gaff.

Him coming to the Lions is obviously a long shot but I think he plays a role that I would like to see Coleman play for us.

I take your point but our next winger can’t just be a poor man’s McCluggage. There needs to be a point of difference I reckon otherwise he is a fringe player.

Nothing wrong with having optimism for your players. Kiddy is a gem and I genuinally believe he is the next elite small forward :)
They are two totally different styles of players.

Kiddy has the defensive instincts that Cameron displayed when he played second fiddle to Betts at Adelaide. But he doesn’t have to lightning speed or leap of Cameron.

Kiddy is much more a link player, rather than a genuine small forward.

Yeah but your also on record as saying Mathieson never played a bad game. So I’ll take that view with a grain of salt.

Fwiiw Kiddy just doesn't have the natural tools of Cameron and to think he could be as good is a nice thought but I don't see any evidence that he's in the same class.

It's fine when you're emerging and minding other people and doing a few nice things ,it's a different proposition entirely to be targeted as a danger player with opponents trying to shut you down.

Basically I just don't see that Kiddy has Charlie's pace, or anywhere near it ,which is something you can't manufacture. But he still could become a very handy player.

no idea why people think Charlie was poor at the Crows.
He kicked 5 in the 2017 PF. Yes Betts was the main man although he played lots of good games for the Crows.

Kiddy will be a great player although as others said no where near the speed of Charlie.

His pressure was elite. I think he was as good at the crows but in different parts of his game.

He started to come along in that final series right before being traded to us (and we'll after being linked to us)... pushed his trade value up and up and up. Before that, he'd displayed much less as second fiddle to Eddie.

5 goals in a final was a pretty good effort before he came here

When should we next spend a high draft pick on a KPP? Daniher probably has 5-6 years left, similar for Adams. I think a KPP needs about 3-4 years of development on an AFL list before they start coming into their own, so perhaps in 2023? Ballenden probably gets cut at the end of the year, but he can be replaced by a lower draft pick with few problems.

Looking at the draft could we target another first round pick this year considering that our first next year will be swallowed up on any Will Ashcroft bid someone like the Bulldogs with them having a likely top 5 pick with Darcy
Technically yes, but we could also fall into a Collingwood situation where they ended up trading a high draft pick for very little. Note Collingwood also don't have a lot of points to match a bid on Daicos with so they might carry a points deficit into the 2022 draft as well. That might be a situation we'd like to avoid, unless there's a player the football department really loves.

It depends on highly likely of Us dropping off Collingwood only just made the 8 last year sure no one saw Collingwood dropping off as much as they have this season but looking at what Port Adelaide did in getting 3 highly rated players in I’d be willing to pay up when we’re guaranteed a highly rated Father/son next year

I wouldn't especially if we think Fletcher is coming along well. We would be giving up too many points and making it very hard to get both if we traded out of a low first round pick and needed to get points for both a top 5 and top 25ish players. I think we hold this year and perhaps trade down or out next year when we have a better idea of the points we will need. I don't think we want to risk getting two good prospects by mucking about.

Like others said, hanging on to that first rounder and see where we are in 2022 trade / draft time might be best. I was keen on trading it off too but seems too early to make a call like that.
