It's going to be a Demonic day.

Dees by 10 goals.

Nah I think the doggies have too many midfield guns - Melbourne don't havetheforwards to expose their lack of height down back.

Bailey Smith and Cody Weightman to run amok up forward

Dogs by 33 points

Bevo to keep the Clarkson legacy burning and Doc Duryea to get a third medal

I just hope it's a close game. Hasn't been a particularly exciting finals series so far.

Been some great results in terms of which teams have won and lost.

But in terms of exciting, closely fought out games, there's only been two. The rest have been 5+ goal blow outs.

Better than 2017 at least, from memory that finals series we only had 1 close game in Port vs WCE in week 1.

If Melbourne win we won't hear the end of it for the next 4 months.
Also, if the dogs beat the new media favourites, the media will focus on every missed free, so we might finally see the end of the throw dogs as the afl will cave to public pressure

I’m not fussed either way tbh

Glad Doc gets another chance to add to his premiership medals

Wouldn’t mind Treloar picking up a medal - big **** you to the pies

Couple of work colleagues are Demon supporters

It’s West Perth colours and song

like I said - not fussed

Tankers or the throwdogs? Teams evenly matched besides in the Ruck.

Rucks can be taken out of the game, much as we did with Naitanui and West Coast did with Grundy and Gawn in back to back finals without Naitanui. That said, don't think the Bulldogs have got the players to throw at Gawn or the strategy to slow him down. Could be the difference maker.

Knew he'd run with this. Utter delusion.
Let's hope Scott feels the same way and they dish off all of their youth. They're in for a world of absolute pain.

End of 2010 revisited?
They had just played 3 grand finals in a row and won 2 of them when 2010 started.
BIT OF A DIFFERENCE GERARD!

Yeah go Dees, I won’t be offended if you win..and I like Max Gawn a lot, seems like a bloody good bloke.
Why is there a bye this week incidentally?

Bye this week is terrible... the season was just building to a nice crescendo with these 2 teams and BAM, wind out of sails.

Would love for the Dees to get up, but I'd also kinda love it if Schache became a premiership player- purely because of how much he's copped over the journey.

If the Demons win I really feel for Nathan Jones not getting to be a part of it. He was a bloody warrior for them when they were painfully bad and he had to have had better offers come through to go to teams that weren't getting pantsed every week. Not sure there's a player on their list that deserves the accolade more.

He's living in a dreamland. This Geelong team is not comparable to the 2010 Geelong team. Only a few of the current players would get into that previous team.

Back then they had a midfield including - Jelwood (22), Bartel (26), Corey (28), Ling (29), Ottens (30). Accountable and tough midfielders (Corey and Ling in particular).

A forward line including - Hawkins (22), Stokes (25), Stevie J (27), Chapman (28), Pods (29), Mooney (31).

And a backline including - Taylor (24), Lonergan (26), J. Kelly (26), Enright (29), Scarlett (31), Milburn (33).

There are a few parallels to Vandenberg's story.

Yeah there's absolutely no comparison. They've barely got a player in their top 10 under 30 next year, Cam Guthrie along with Cameron might be the only 2. Even their top young defender in Tom Stewart is gonna be 29.

They have a staggering lack of internal development to look forward to - their best in the under 28 cohort is Parfitt, and if we're being brutally honest he's hardly a better player than Cousins. Maybe a bit more defensively accountable.

Surprised by the amount of people behind the Demons.

Hard to see what's to hate about them. Their supporters may be a bit toff, but any Demons game I have been to they haven't been insufferable dicks like when I have to be near large swathes of Tigers, Bombres or Cats supporters. Most Demons supporters I have met are good to chat to and were always just respectful and envious when we were up and about. Most of their players are good to watch and they don't have any Dangerfield FIGJAM types who make me want to punch my TV. The merger thing is decades past now and their vote is fun to tease them about but was likely rigged by their board at the time using proxy votes - of those that turned up on the night they voted against the merger almost 3 - 1. The only thing I find troubling about the Demons is that Paul Roos will inevitably take smug credit for where they are, and it will put them up on 13 flags with us. I can live those though if for no other reason than Neil Daniher getting to witness a Dees flag would be absolutely brilliant.

Edit: While I stand by what I said about their supporters - I still get a giggle about one year (either 2012 or 2013) when we were up and about and they were in the doldrums I was at a Demons home game against us. It was a bloody cracking winter's day when the sun was shining, no clouds in sight and it was 13-14 degrees. My replacement seats were up on the top tier but I wanted to sit in the sun, so me and my wife went and just sat anywhere as the crowd was fairly low and the security folk didn't make much of a fuss. Anyway the Hawks were playing a bit sluggish but were winning easily - and I was a little vocal because I was annoyed by how 'bad' we were playing (likely up by 4-5 goals however). I got a tap on the shoulder from security asking if I should be sitting in that section and we explained that we shouldn't be but were just enjoying the sunshine. He politely asked if I could just move into the next bay so I wasn't sitting in among the smattering of Demons supporters - one of whom was obviously annoyed by my being annoyed at our performance that was something they wish their team was capable of. Was the only time I got a tap on the shoulder at the G.
