You mean this guy

No. 4, 2005 National Draft

He was selected by Carlton with pick four in the 2005 National Draft, held in November 2005.

Which incidentally was the first live pick, with the three prior being Priority Picks.
Priority picks are still live picks though. He was the 4th best kid without any discounts or FS multi picks stuff that they have now. Being Priority is irrelevant.

Whispers were 2 and 13 for 6 & 8 with GWS.

Assume Callaghan and Amiss targetted.

Seems a but counter productive trading for another highly touted vic kid post Cerra.
Tis trading down, regardless of actual spots moved.

6 and 8 for 2 and 13 sounds too good to be true, GWS would want 19 chucked in.

6 & 8 on the table and that’s it.

Cobbler cats out of the bag on this trade scenario. Any chance Bell could trade Logue somehow…for a lawnmower?

Hard to sell low.
Just needs a solid preseason, bit of luck with injury, rid himself of brain fades, learn some basics and hope others remain injured so he gets some games.

If he can do all of that I see no reason why he can’t work up to a satisfactory player who plays 28 more games for Fremantle.

Trying to convince myself there is some way we could pull that deal off without giving up 19 and the only thing I can say we have going for it is if GWS were intent on moving down from 2, I think we realistically can provide the best value.

There are only two other clubs with the ability and possible desire to move up to that pick IMO, Hawks and Richmond. Don’t see GWS preferring 5 and 21 from the Hawks and I think Richmond would probably prefer 7 and 15 for where they are at, with the exception being if they can find someone to trade a teens pick for some package of lower picks (which seems unlikely)

TLDR: I think 6 and 8 for 2 and 13 is still probably the most attractive deal GWS can get, doesn’t meant theI’ll do that trade

its not that bad a deal for GWS.

their board and needs may differ greatly from ours.

if they want say Andrew and Rachele then 13 isn’t going to get that done

JVR is the obvious standout.

I’d bet my left nut GWS don’t trade pick 2 unless for serious overs and 2 and 13 for 6 and 8 isn’t close to overs. It’s pretty fair, so why would they do it?

I’ll maintain they use pick 2. Then when they decide it’s time to push the button will offer 13 and a future 1st for a pick around 5-10. That’s only if the player many believe they want (Andrew) is still on the board.

The fact we have 6 and 8 means we’re most likely to accept that offer. A) because we can still use a top 10 pick, B) a slide still offersa range of players we’d likely have targeted at 6 or 8 anyway, C) we will see a need to replenish picks for next year PLUS give us ammo should we go hard at someone.

Just my opinion.

thought your left nut had gone long ago on a previous bet :sadv1: , gotcha Cobbler:grinv1:.

I hope we look at Constable or Greg Clark to fill a spot on our list.

Jordan Clark is an upgrade on Wilson. Will Brodie who's nowhere at the Cerra level is at least a big body mid replacement for him.

With Fyfes new injury issues i would look at Constable or Greg Clark as extra depth. Fyfe is irreplaceable as we all know..but Acres is soft, Valente could be an option but he's a bit of an unknown and Blakely turns it over.

190cm plus mids are always handy to have imo.
