I dont think Jackson leaves this year for what it’s worth. But the 1 year contract extension is a BIG red flag for any club taking a number 3 draft pick from another state.

Yeah they do, and I'm sure they get Freo on the tele every Sunday afternoon as one happy family.

The cost would be massive you would think, but if he doesn’t extend at the end of this year with the progress they are making it’s not a different situation to Cerra really is it.
I know there is posters on here that say he is not a ruck and not a forward, but he is exactly what we need and what we have been quoted as saying we need a ruck/forward by JLo.
He is a gun in the making, a developing ‘known quantity’ and I really think he is worth trading for next year if he can persuade him to do a Kelly and not extend.
Bend the Dee’s over and drive them home for the shit they have done to us over the past 20 years.

True but they will be/ should be going hard at the draft next year and this year.
Hopefully if we load up this year we can start to trade in the missing pieces.
I think we really need to wary of the Eagles of targeting the same local WA talent we hope to draft this year.
They have a knack of loading up on picks between 20-35 and doing quite well.
I wouldn’t be getting too clever downgrading picks into the 20-30 area and still hoping to get Amiss, van Rooyen or Williams...Wet Toast will be into like a fat kid on a cupcake as well - Kennedy Nearly done and Darling spudding it up consistently.

I'm not sure why we'd care. How many Freo games do you think they'd watch each season?

We know his value - 21 year old, former top 5 pick, 70+ games experience, averaging 23.2 possessions this year (slightly undervalued due to early injury against the Crows), elite for kicking and inside 50s, and in the best under 22 team in his third season.

His value is easily a top 5 pick or two picks in the second half of the first round. Some will argue differently but that should be the absolute minimum. There are no guarantees of first rounders being good. There are plenty of duds picked.

The average games played for players in the 6-10 range in the draft is 125 games. With Cerra you have a guaranteed top player who has yet to reach his ceiling. He has 10+ years and 200 games left in him.

As I said earlier if it’s between us and Carlton then I’m more hopeful. Duffield said this recently too - there is not way that Cerra has 100% committed to Carlton without they themselves even knowing who will be their coach next year.
So at the very least it’s likely Adam has not definitely decided he’s leaving yet.

briztoon is one of the more underhanded posters on these threads. Like's to have A LOT of opinions floating around about A LOT of players from other clubs, and tries to position himself as some sort of expert purveyor of player value, when in fact he shows his underlying bias regularly.
