Could be Ed - Said yesterday he will play as long as he can but when he gets a tap on the shoulder he will have no hard feelings or regrets.

He's not tall

Williamson and now Kemp have been picked ahead of him several times in the last month, so I guess you could say so.
Not really like-for-like though. Kemp and Willo can play the 3rd tall/intercept defender role, but Willo was higher up the ground last week and Kemp could also play forward or midfield.

He's played 6 games as a first year rookie. That's not a bad effort

club probably see parks as a long term replacement for liam jones

I don't think having others selected ahead of him means he's on the outer. There's more to it than that surely.

And Kemp hasn't played a game yet.

I can't see that.

Jones is listed as 199cm & 100kg while Parks is 192cm & 86kg.

More like a backup for Plow/Marchbank/etc as a 3rd tall type. No way is Parks a first choice (or 2nd, 3rd, 4th...) key defender.

Easy.. kid looks ok, just very raw. Had 25 disposals more than Simmo after 3 games and Simmo turned out ok!

It was Steve Hockings intention prior to leaving, and still remains a priority, especially considering half of the country is in lockdown, that List Sizes will reduce once again.

The expectation is for it to drop to a total of 40 players, with an additional slot for a Cat B rookie.

That is 2 less than in 2021.

I'm not saying he won't make it, I think he's shown a bit, especially as a 1st year rookie. But I'd be incredibly surprised if he ended up a key defender.

He may have had 25 more than Simmo after 3 games, but he also probably spent an extra 4 hours on the field across those first 3 games...

I can't see it happening.

I think I heard Ratts saying they're actually out of players; they've got 26 fit so they're all getting named this week to play or as the 4 emergencies.

Hocking's gone and I'm not sure why the country being lockdown affects list sizes. If it's financial they'll negotiate cuts. A couple of 1st year contracts would be about 1.5% of the TPP.

Not sure either about list sizes, but it’s worth noting that St Kilda passed on 2 mid season draft picks.

They may be out of players but they’ve only got themselves to blame for it.

True, but that's with the current list sizes which is larger than that suggested 40 +1CatB. Any more than 15 unavailable and you can't name your 4 emergencies. We had 14 unavailable last week, which is right on the cusp of that.

I just can't see them reducing list sizes, especially after the seemingly increased injury rate due to reduced rotations, the added player unavailability due to the mandatory 12 day concussion protocol (which if anything will increase in the coming years) and the current risk of having a player visit an exposure site while doing some normal activity in public like ordering a coffee.

I haven't heard of list sizes being reduced and would be very surprised if they did. Covid concerns aren't relevant as by next season all who want/need vaccines will have been offered them so we will have access to pretty close to full crowds.

Soft cap is going up a bit as well which would indicate thath lists will remain at least at their current levels.

Here you go.

You are welcome.
Jones is 30 and is a turnover merchant Very over rated, in the context of finals level football. Full backs are not easy to find. If we draft one, he needs a few years of development. If Jones falls off the perch quickly, loses pace either Weiters goes to fullback and Kemp CHB or we have a hole to fill

Well he’s playing like a bloke who’s just not interested isn’t he.
AFL isn’t for everyone, Nathan Ablett just walked away …
gifted player came and went with a premiership medal, to become a plumber , on his own terms

got one over his dad ,for all time

Setterfield's fate, it seems will be made by others

Brennan Cox would be a good get

We definitely need a FB...when Jones missed a game injured we had no proper replacement...we had Plowman on Esava. Luckily for us Esava isn't very good but Plowman can't be our 2nd KPD in games.

Historically speaking though I'd say FB's aren't that hard to find...there's been plenty of clubs pick one up for cheap from other clubs.

Would like to see us draft one though this year....they'll need a few years to develop.

Wonder if we would have pushed Levi into the backline had he not also been withdrawn from the game.

I agree we need further depth in the area but it may have been a different discussion had he and Oscar been fit.

Yeah for this year we would have considered levi and omac as adequate back ups for jones and weitering.

Jones and levi in their 30s now though and levi having injury issues. Omac too.

Next year id be happy with Jones and weitering still, omac back up and in off season we draft or poach for cheap a young kpd.
