Was it Rendell or someone else that said our rebuild was going to take 10 years just last year??

I swear someone said it.
Garry Buckenara was the idiot who said North Melbourne's rebuild would take 10 years. I am not even sure if he knew any of the young players we had on the list at the start of the season.

Hearing that Ollie Florent may try to request a trade back to Vic to be closer to family. If we lose Dumont, he’d be the one who I’d target with the compo pick (assuming we don’t get J.Kelly).

Only just turned 23and is averaging 19 disposals per game for Sydney this year. Plenty of scope for improvement.

Interestingly we thought he’d be coming to us in the 2016 draft. Sydney ended up taking him the pick before Simpkin (thankfully).

I'd hope we'd be all over him. Top talent.

Out French, in Italian.

Love the talent but where does he fit in in the long run? Especially if the rumours about Kelly are true.

LDU, Simpkin, Powell, Phillips, TT, Stevo, Scott, Lazzaro, Curtis Taylor is moving up the ground, Horne/Callaghan, Josh Kelly?

That's a fairly deep wing/midfield group. Also, my understanding is that Florent is contracted? I'd assume we'd need to give away a fair bit for him considering he was a first rounder and has shown a fair bit.

Just can't see how he fits in and how it gets done but wouldn't complain if we got it done for the right price.

If Kelly does indeed come via FA then I couldn’t see us targeting Florent. Unless they could envisage a role for him as a speedy half back.

The only way I’d see a need for him is if we lose Dumont via FA or Polec via trade and we don’t get Kelly. In which case there would definitely be some room on a wing for him. I really rate Scott & Taylor but Florent would be a pretty big upgrade on those two as a genuine wingman IMO.

Wing/HB is the only spot I can see. Can replace Hall long-term and Froggy short-term. I do, however, feel the same as you in that a spot is going to be hard to find. Richmond would be keen.

MATT RENDELL MAKES BIG CALL ON NORTH MELBOURNE
BY LAURENCE ROSEN AN HOUR AGO

Matt Rendell is incredibly bullish about North Melbourne’s future prospects, saying they could play finals next year on the back of a much-improved midfield group.
After a slow start to the year under first-year coach David Noble, they’ve impressed since the bye to draw with GWS, as well as beating West Coast and Carlton.

Rendell said North’s midfield has toughened up as the season’s progressed and is set to hold them in good stead heading into 2022.
"I like a few of those blokes (in midfield)," he said on SEN Flip.
"Tom Powell looks an absolute beauty, their depth of tough and inside run midfielders… Jy Simpkin has improved and got tougher.
"Luke Davies-Uniacke has come in and shouldered a lot of the load. Their midfield looks outstanding, it’s a big call but their midfield could take them into the eight next year.
"Coming into this year I didn’t think they’d be able to score – the beauty is Larkey has learnt to play as a key forward even though he’s playing against the best defender every week.
"The benefit next year is we’ll some other players coming into that forward line with the benefit of both Larkey and Cam Zurhaar having some great."
North Melbourne will take on Richmond at the MCG on Saturday.

Don’t forget the Zoo-har

Florent hasn’t developed liked I thought he would, still has time though.
Personally, I’d probably prefer Ed Richards who is a better user and could fill a need off half back.

Probably all of them.

We’re 18th - think we can find enough players to delist

Almost time for a list changes thread. I'm very curious to see how many players we turn over this year. The 3(?) minimum will be very easy still, the question is how many more?

l have noticed that the Syd Barker night has been moved forward to 27th August from early October...Maybe because they dont want to notify players until our B&F night is finished unlike other years when players have been told prior to it..
