Will Walker has been a huge disappointment (injuries I know). If you look at the 10 players drafted after him, we could have had. WOW!! Kicking ourselves Im sure.

All would be best 22 for us.

What makes it worse is we used a 2nd round pick knowing he was going to be a speculative pick.

Not to mention grabbing a couple extra first round picks at the trade table on his return to WA.

That was part of my point, without spelling it out. That one pick could have netted us a very good player, or two first rounders.

Nothing against Will, but geez, is that one of our worst picks in the last .... ever?? Unless, of course, we retain him, and he plays 150 games of prductiver footy.

To be fair to Will I think he showed enough before and between injuries to suggest he may have been a very good player. Even last year after the PCL he looked good, especially in the game against Brisbane where he pinged his hamstring. The mystery seems to be that he seems to have lost a significant chunk of top-end speed between last year and this.
It's a tough game and it moves on relentlessly. That will mean tough calls on guys like Will and probably Hayden in a few weeks.

We then wouldn't have had LDU...

I'm fine looking at mistakes but the sliding doors can get awfully complicated. It's very rarely that 1 pick differently that matters, it's the weight of enough of them within a certain amount of time (obviously as well as the coaching, development and luck with injuries etc).

Will looked a player in his first handful of games, since that initial PCL he's been completely different. Can't blame injury on those who drafted him, and hindsight is 20/20.

One thing I keep hearing is training standards . I actually believe this is important. For whatever reason ,over the last however long , it seems we have struggled in this area. This can only be a good thing, if we have improved. You play as you train they say.

Very good call mate very good under the radar to everyone but rated pretty high at the Bombers internally. Could see him fit into our team nicely. Good age as well. Yeah good pick up blisk.
