Scouting Notes: 2022 WAFL Colts - Finals Week 1

Peel Thunder and South Fremantle advanced in week one of the WAFL Colts finals series. We noted some of the top performers from either win.

They do but at the moment they are playing a 32yo racist, a spud in Himmelberg and an undersized Lachie Gollant as key forwards. Fogarty wont make it and will likely be traded. Frampton has proven he is hopeless forward.

So depending where they finish, if the top few kids are gone, then having a locked in Lemmey/Thilthorpe home grown KPF pairing for 12 years would be very enticing for them.

History shows you can get good mids anywhere in the draft. If you want superstar key forwards, you have to go early

Agreed, tho they desperately desperately need someone like Kobe Ryan or tsatas in their midfield. They’ve got the worst collection of young mids in the league by far, and lack class and running power in their something bad.

Still, go tall early and look for mids later is a very viable option.

Reckon they will love having twin towers up forward.

Does he go top 5 picks?

I have some question marks over magor, but after about pick 25/30 in this draft you will be taking a punt. There’s some stuff to like about him, and especially for a club like us that needs some goalkickers we could pick him and play him in the forward half and take the slow road to developing him as a mid. We wouldn’t need him to make it as a mid quickly with our front half needs. He’s a bit of a natural goal scorer.

Scully is a red hot Port lad… we need to put a bit of love into him - he is a real chance to return home if drafted interstate.

He is will develop into Peter Wright.

He’s a tall skinny kid you don’t want him playing against grownups. Absolutely no need for him to do anything other than what he’s doing at under 18 level now. West are playing Lemmey at senior level but he’s more physically developed.
