Saw that Storm has got an exception for the mid season draft

surely at 28 you don't go through the hassle unless someone has given you a tap on the shoulder, is this the KPD we're after?

Good chiros are hard to find.

“Strom is a chiropractor who has been working with sporting clubs in recent years, focusing on managing injuries and facilitating rehabilitation, including at South Fremantle where he has worked with the players.”

Agreed, tho they desperately desperately need someone like Kobe Ryan or tsatas in their midfield. They’ve got the worst collection of young mids in the league by far, and lack class and running power in their something bad.

Still, go tall early and look for mids later is a very viable option.

Reckon they will love having twin towers up forward.
I think Lemmey would be a great option but I can't see it happening unless the Crows start winning a lot and we start losing a lot. Or we can trade above them. You have to go early to get a decent tall. Maybe Keeler is a decent option if he is not a hard gainer. Or if decide to go for a key defender Lewis Hayes, brother of Sam would be an excellent option. It really pays to go early to get a decent tall.

I think we have a few midfielders who will develop nicely with time Butters, Rozee, Jones, Drew, SPP, Houston and Ollie will be in his prime for a few years yet. Alternatively there appear to be a lot of decent midfielders available which we might be able to get with a later draft pick if we can trade our way up to a second round pick somehow, or get a decent compensation pick.

I don't pay a lot of attention to the up and coming draft picks especially at this time of year so there may be some up and coming talls who will leap up the draft order by the end of the year.

I would not want to trade up for lemmey, even though I rate him very highly, purely on the fact that this year is unique and offers a lot of interesting kpf options and there’s no way they can all go before our 1st pick, if we decided we wanted a kf, there would be a good option at our pick.

I desperately hope we go after a key defender, and while I haven’t watched Hayes the fact that he’s described as very mobile, intercepting and a good user while being 197 interests me greatly. There’s some key defenders who could be cheaper tho. Saw van es a fair while back and he is going to be a huge unit and looks a natural defender.

I’m also keen on our group of mids, but it doesn’t hurt to keep adding quality there, especially in terms of genuine inside / outside on-baller types.

Sometimes you can find mids throughout the draft, but I’m not so sure about this one. It’s a weird draft where I think the absolute top end of mids are very exciting, then there is a fair gap.

Think we can get Hayes with a 25-35ish pick?
One of the reasons I’m in favour of trading 2 first round picks down to a late 1st and a couple of reasonable 2nd picks.
Keep the 1st trade one of the 2nd picks and the other on Hayes. Think Hayes is already telling clubs his dream is to play for Port

Harry Sheezel on 360 being interviewed last night. Really impressive and likeable. We don’t get Rankine I’m all in favour of going hard there. Slightly bigger version of Rochele.

Everything I've heard/read about Sheezel oozes x-factor and class.

But he's tipped to go top 10. How many small forwards get drafted that high, and given how few that were, ever went on to an outstanding career?

We do need a good small forward or even two, but the risk is too high to pick him, when we have higher priorities atm.

He's 184 cms. Really nice height for mine.
That he's from Sandringham would give me a little more confidence about picking him up as well.

currently sitting with 9 , 50 and 55, expect both lemmey and sheezel to be gone before 9.

OK we'll bundle 2 1st up with Karlos compo and try and move up a few spots and get a second round pick back?

West Coast and North need a volume of high picks. If North get a charity pick they can trade maybe we can do something there?

Actually North get a charity pick and a couple of 1st round picks from the Crows for JHF we may really be able to offer our two 1st for a higher one of theirs and a reasonable 2nd

Gets in to last yrs Sinn move territory ie moving up by overpaying in draft value. What are we prepared to say is reasonable ie 9 +(19-25) (amon if band 1 compo) = 7 + 40s back. May put you in range of Sheezel, but not lemmey.

Who are the KPF's that you think are within our reach? I'd genuinely like to know because I didn't see many in the top 30 article that I looked at and I would be keen to have a look. I'm confident in our crop of potential midfielders, but who do you think we should be looking at. One article suggests Arlo Draper should be the forward/midfielder that would best suit our needs. Are we any chance of getting Zane Duursma?

I like the idea of Hayes because we should then have 2 players that will hopefully be locks in our best 22 for the next 8 to 12 years. If not within our reach van es looks like a natural lockdown defender who already has a mans body so I'd be more than happy with him as well.

Arlo Draper was drafted by Collingwood last year.

Zane duursma is in next years draft not this coming draft

Kfs in this draft are
Lemmey, Scully, Jefferson and keeler. Aaron cadman is also now gaining his fans and getting rated (tho I haven’t seen him play).

There’s no way all those kfs get taken before our pick, so there’s one there if we wanted one.

there’s a really good group of mids at the top end. My fave is Jhye Clark, who’s just a pure pure footballer.

I strongly suspect we will like mattaes phillipou or Kobe Ryan though.

Phillipou is an interesting one. He has that point of difference due to his height and excellent overhead marking. Can play both forward and mid, probably goes in the late 20s. Keeler will be around the end of first , so early 2nd draft choice needs to be found (amon?). Like keeler cause he can ruck as well.

Phillipou will be in that 10-20 spot i reckon, Ryan too.

Sheezel would be a great addition. Kid has pep and a lot of skill

Scully is an interesting one. He’s kicking goals for fun but is playing on some undersized opponents. But, he moves so well, marks so well and has a fine kick for goal. He’s certainly moved from deaft hopeful to first round calculations

I haven’t watched much of sheezel but fills a need for us, also sounds like he can score multiple ways other than just a small that plays tall. Leads, forward craft, crumbs.

I have medium and small forwards as our 2nd need after key defenders.

Hayes is an interesting one. Has played forward, back, ruck and on a wing - is it a case of no clear position? Or just doing what the team needs? Will be a good one to see against better opposition at champs.

Scully has the goods for mine. Yea you want to see him against better key defenders but does everything well, is mobile and seems to want the contest/mark which is a good sign. Not sure he’ll fill out like Dixon but will be very mobile.

If Amon does got and we get a end of first rounder, taking Scully and Hayes would set us for a long time.
