philthy05 what's your preference between sheezel or busslinger for our first?

Or to put it another way - say we get band 2 for Amon and have a pick ~20.

If we pick Busslinger at 8, who is the best general forward likely to be around at 20, and what is the drop off from the quality of Sheezel?

I’ve seen a little of busslinger but not a great deal. The impression I get from everyone else is that he’s going well before our pick. If he was at our pick I would love to have a crack, as we’re so desperate for a quality key defender. There’s a lot to like of him from what I’ve seen.

Sheezel I really like, but again I haven’t watched a heap of. He’s able to get involved in games a hell of a lot for someone playing as a small / medium forward.

Again I think that’s a need for us. Posters here seem to again think he will go before our pick.

I think there’s draft watchers out there who have watched these two a lot more than me, I’ll just say we need a key defender way more than any other position.

Key defenders and general forwards after pick 20? I don’t know.

Sam Hayes brother is favoured to go around there onwards I guess. He racks up tonnes of the ball in under 18’s but I’ve only watched a tiny bit of him. He is skinny as all hell and will be a project to bulk up. I’m interested but cautious.

For key defenders i almost favour going with later picks, I’ve liked van es for a little while. He’s a natural looking big defender, tho I think he will be more shutdown stopper than interceptor which is all the rage right now. I’m sure there are some other guys out there.

I’m really not sure about general forwards either. Brayden George gets mentioned but I’m unfamiliar with him.

My viewing and knowledge would mainly centre on Sa kids and vic mids that have been names for a while ie going around since last champs so I’m watching them a bit out from the draft.

For me Clark and phillipou are the guys top of my wish list, tho I think both should go in the top 5.

Yeah Busslinger likely to go before pur pick. If hes there we should snap him up.

Wouldnt mind Bennier late though

Surely we should be able to merge the to teams numbers together lol.
How has this lad for Adelaide who's father played just over 200 games not have a heap docked like we did for Borlace ? Didn't Norwood play escort cup games ?

Call yourself a Port supporter - it's Borlaze, not Borlace!

Jim Michalanney missed around 40 games across 1980 and 81, only played 4 games in his debut season (1974), 14 in 1975 and played in the Ardath Cup winning team in 1978.

His figure is almost certainly inflated by night competition games which were counted as senior games by the sanfl.

Should have listed him a few years back and got his numbers up…

Using top 10 picks on key backs is so boring
Yea they can be found later in the draft more readily than key forwards or elite midfielders, but the best are still most often found in the first round. If Busslinger is there, then we snap him up. But can’t see him getting past WC, E, H or GWS, who could all use a key back.

The wash up from the Vic Metro vs WA game.
Consensus on the draft board had Elijah Hewett BOG.
