The knock on Clark is his relatively poor disposal.

Any of Phillipou, Dowling, Tsatos, Hewett, Hollands or D'Aloia as mids would be fine for us.

Could potentially get a tall KPD with a later pick. Think Keeler is good, but he may be gone by our 2nd pick. Maybe we will trade one in, rather than take our chances in the Draft?

X-factor livewire small forwards? Well, Sheezel will go early, and both Daveys' are Essendon F/S.
Maybe Munkara, who is Essendon NGA - but they can't match bids within the 1st two rounds?

Key defenders....if we want a set and forget option then we should go with Busslinger at our first pick. He is good and at 197cm he'll be able to take on the taller key forwards.

Someone like Henry Hustwaite would be a good option and might be there with our 3rd. James Van Es a potential late option as well. Brodie Tuck can swing both ends so might be an option at 193cm as well.

Hayes would be good, but unless we get a 2nd then he'd likely be gone.

Michalanney would be an option but like Hayes probably falls in that spot between our picks at the moment.

In a case like this, where its a top side benefitting, there probably needs to be a greater point loading on the draft cost, so that the impact is greater. Don't think the current cost reflects the real advantage gained.

I'd have to look it up but it would cost Brisbane almost all their draft capital if he gets bid on with pick 1. I reckon thats a reasonable cost. You're blowing up your whole draft to land 1 player.

Last year North turned down 3 first round draft picks for pick one. Under the points system 3 2nd round picks gets it done.

They should scrap the discount and require the points to include a pick within 18 of the bid.

The advantage is the player access. It shouldn’t also be the reduced price.

That 3 first rounders was BS.

The crows offered their 2021 1st Rd pick 4 + their 2022 1st Rd pick + Melbourne's 2022 1st Rd pick which they acquired as part of a 4 team pick swap, but wanted North's 2022 2nd Rd pick back which was basically the next pick after Melbourne's if things were similar in 2022, but marketing it as, look how good a go we had at getting JHF.

JHF pick 1 for 4 + around pick 6 in 2022, + around pick 18 in 2022 - give back pick 19 to 22 range for North's 2nd round. The draft pick value index points shows how mickey mouse the deal was for North and why they said no. Now they might not get as much this year or next because he wants to walk out but before North drafted JFH, they would have been mad to take the crows deal.

Quite true REH at the time I thought it was a massive offer... But you putting it like that it wasn't as good as I first thought.
David King was the one who pointed it out at the time and I thought, that's not how the media are selling it, and I went and used draftguru's calculator to workout how correct King was.

Now David King wants JHF traded out, every time he talks about him.

I really like Adam D’Aloia.... Real pure mid type.

Would he be a top 10 reach?
I need to see more but he reminds me of a Drew/Perryman type. Does everything well and will play 200+ good games without necessarily being a star. Keen to see how he goes against the better midfields in the U18 champs.

If there is a scenario where we are trading our 2023 and 2024 first round picks for Horne-Francis next year than I’m sure the club will be strongly considering whether we’d be best served splitting our pick 7-10 for something like 2 picks inside 20 or 3 in 30. That would bring D’Aloia into play and potentially gets us into a better range for some of the key defenders and small fowards.
