I quite like the look of him, but they mustn't rate him if they delisted to add in the rookie when there appears to be no desperate need for that extra main list spot.
But we don't know what the club has in mind with that list spot other than the fact that they went to the trouble to create it

if by some miracle..

More than replaces poulter on the wing. But someone on that quality you cant have playing in the VFL for the next few year(s) until sidey retires.
A while ago I heard that we are trying to get a top 5 pick for him. We just might not have the capital to get it done- particularly if we need to trade in a F2 and F3 just to be in a position to offer 16 with F1.

Yeah surprised me too. Only makes sense if they plan on using that list spot.
I think you touched on Wright stating we will take a ruckman, is this still the case Jen2310 ??
As we didn't take one as a DFA Maybe the kid with red hair that played against us & was linked to us may be the one the club has in mind.
I'm nota big fan but Toby Murray was the over ager I'd heard whispers about

True, but I can't really see what it could be.

All I can think of is that there might be a player we're keen on and we're confident no other team wants to add him to the primary list but are interested in adding him as a rookie? I suppose there could be a mature ager in that boat - or one of these development talls? Unless there's a specific player in mind, he's been moved due to the very small difference between a late pick in the ND and a rookie draft selection.

With Murley on the rookie list we won't have any rookie spots left unless we elevate Ginni which goes against the trend
Our rookie spot if we make one available will be late at pick 16

What I mean is that by moving Murley onto the rookie list, we've turned a rookie draft pick into a National Draft pick.

If we don't do any trades, that national draft selection will be a decent one, currently pick 51, which should come in to about 45. So a decent gain over the rookie draft pick that we'd use if Murley was on the senior list.

But seeing we're rumoured to be trying to trade up and might also try to trade into next year's draft. If we trade one or more of our first picks out that extra national draft selection will end up being at the very end of the national draft. Eg. there's a fair chance that what we will have gotten by delisting Murley is the very small gain of turning a first round of the rookie draft pick into an end of the national draft pick, with the disadvantage of being committed to that player for two years rather than one.

Cheers 36, that gave me a better understanding on your points.
On a side note we don't know if any of the current picks as they stand remain that way or if they are traded up, down or out to gain another future

It did sound like a fantasy statement as I can't see Dodoro giving up pick 4 but hey, sometimes pigs fly.
cant really see it happening because we dont really have the picks. 16 + 25 +27 is not enough for pick 4 in my opinion.
Maybe its pick 4 + f2nd+f3rd for our f1st + 16, 25 and 27. (Cant see it happening).

Same unless Dodoro is desperate to get another first round pick for next year.

It could be done by us giving up both our firsts for say pick 4 and the oppo clubs future picks 2nd & 3rd rounders
How did that work out for us last time, no way!

You’re only ever a couple of injuries and some bad press away from a poor season. That would be a very poor decision.

I'd do it in a heart beat if it was just 16 and future first for 4 + future second and third. But itd need to be everything we've got - 16, 25,27, f1 for 4, f2,f3

Wow, I know we're just chewing the fat but that really is selling the farm.
4 & a future 2nd (don't rate the F3rd) for 2x first's, 25 & 27
Next years first could be lower, would prefer to stay where we are
Then there's the fact that all our choices after 4 would be so late in this draft

Could we trade the future first we get as part of Fonzies deal for a first in this round, then we would have 2 first rounders in this draft

PieSource is saying we have had a couple of chats with Essendon about pick 4, anyone heard anything about this? Or is he full of it?
If that did happen, who would we pick?
