On another note TRS. I have a miniscus tear & it has bothered me for about 8 weeks now. Can I avoid surgery & let it heal itself? It is better than original injury but progress is slow. I'm 58 & no athlete these days. :)

It depends on the extent, location and nature of the tear, but the trend is away from performing these surgeries in all but elite athletes these days, so I would say yes, you can quite likely take the conservative approach and get a similar outcome.

The problem is that the Salary cap makes it hard to have an abundance of depth in every position and if you do, they start getting poached because they can't get regular games. I don't know if we have a huge amount of depth all over the ground but I do believe we lack developing bookends. The problem is how long do we wait for a kPP player to come along. There is still quite a few kpp left in the draft, why not take a punt now
Absolutely agree, we need bookends more than anything else but Burning picks selecting based on need is not a good strategy…

Yeah, it probably isn't a good strategy. It was hard watching some VFL this year though. We had Wetering and the club stats bloke, his name escapes me, as our KF's and nothing really in KD. There is no guarantee that taking a mid or flanker at our next 3 picks will change the odds too much in favor of saving a draft pick. I would like at least one KPP but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't get one

Any chance Keeler or Lemmey lasts until our 4th pick?

Really want as many of Hayes, Clarke, Barnett, Lemmey, Keeler as possible.

There is a Possibility.

More Keeler then Lemmey I would think

Yes, perhaps if Richmond don’t trade up or if they take Scully.

If we pick up Keeler and Cowan tonight I’m gonna do a nudie run wearing only a Collingwood scarf around Vic park.

Let’s do it Derek.

That would be superb.

Doubt Cowan be there at our Pick and Keeler no one knows where he would go might not even get Drafted Yet

Really rate Cowan, but is he less of a need as he is a rebounding defender? think we are pretty stacked in that dept.

Dream finish to our draft for me would be Clarke, Hayes and Keeler I rkn. We can pick up a mature age ruck in rookie draft, also Keeler reminds me alot of Paddy Ryder anyways.

My own thoughts:

I like Van Es but the knocks are he is similar to Nathan Brown (Ex. Coll/Stk version) that he is a stopper first and rebound/attack second.

In saying that I believe Van Es has the ability to develop this, his kicking is better that Nathan Brown's. Decision making is questionable.

Hayes has greater exposure on his rebound which pushes him higher.
Lemmey is only rated higher by some. KPF are more valueble than KPD.

Van Es sounds like a Roughead replacement and exactly what we need to free up Darcy. If we had a healthy Roughead in the finals I think we could have gone all the way.

As it stands does Richmond have a third round pick before Collingwood?

Nope, they’re at 48 after our 47. So they may trade up, and even then it could be to take Scully, so there are a few avenues to getting Lemmey at 47 if that’s what we really want.

We absolutely must get at least a KPF tonight (e.g. one of Keeler, Lemming, Scully), and I'd love a second KPP also (either another of the earlier, or Hayes or Van Es or even Barnett).

We simply can't go into next year without another young developing key forward on our list, I don't care which pick we take them with.

Any of those 6. Hopefully 2

Personally I’m totally fine with 2 Bruzzy’s in our backline (who he’s been compared with).

We didn’t think Grundy would be at 18.. or Allan, or Beams and Bruzzy around 28-32. Where there’s light there’s hope Dave. Just cross your fingers and toes and hope for the best.
