Anyways not sure where we go from here Longmire average losing margin in the past 3 GF is 9 goals (55 points) we have some of the largest GF losing margins in recent history.

s**t gonna take its toll.

who knows

it comes back to is a grand final loss way worse than losing another final or missing the finals?

Yeah when we got it back to 36 points at half time. I felt we would slowly grind the margin down during the 3rd quarter. But it was a disastrous start, we seemed to keep fumbling and handpassing backwards. I think we conceded 3 goals in the first 3 minutes.
Was hoping to push around the 20 point mark with 1 qtr to go. The complete opposite happened...

I hope we learn from this.

4 grand finals in 10 years, 1 win isn't a good record. Imagine if 2012 didn't go our way

Its really hard Longmire was absolutely bemused in the press conference Mills was shocked and dumbfounded.

Should i say it was a unswanslike performance? i kid i kid

81 points is such a huge margin its not like 4-5 goals its a comprehensive thrashing.

Maybe i didn't really rate this Cats side that highly?

It does make me feel a bit sick knowing we had to pull a performance like that and rely on Hawthorn being inaccurate.

Mal crazy 1/100 snaps dont go through we are 0-4.

they were at their best? we were at our worst?

i guess unless you win the flag your last game is a loss, often. shit one, maybe not this bad

I dunno

would rather at least have been in it and run over I think if you have to lose

real close is heartbreaking too

I only just hope dropping McDonald and leaving Reid in, has no ramifications for McDonald deciding what team to play for in the future.
Might be the emotions speaking but I hope it does. Maybe then the selection committee might finally get it through their thick heads that selecting unfit players costs games. Cost us dearly in 2016 selecting McVeigh and Mills. This time round I can't help but think it destroyed morale. We will never know.

A lot of talk of Reid not being right (and rightly so) but does anyone else also think McInerney wasn’t fully fit either. Ended up on 62% TOG
Another example of why the call on McDonald should be questioned. I would argue McInerney has been just as ineffective in his role in the same time period yet was given a free pass.

Alright, I'm going to make one final post venting about players and coaches, and then I'm moving on to the trading and drafting thread.

Heeney was a disgrace today. I don't get into bashing players not performing to their contracts, but seriously, you could pick out 3 players today that are on the same amount of money he's on combined that put in a better performance than him today.

Coaches picking Reid - just a simply shocking, unforgivable call. It would not have made any difference but that shouldn't distract from what a shocking call it was.

Why did Parker play on Danger? Mills is a far superior match-up. Far, far superior.

Buddy's performance didn't give me much faith in his ability to play out next year. Will he be best 22 come finals 2023? Set and forget McDonald next year. Honestly, just make him the number one forward please.

The stats suggest I've been excessively harsh on Parker, but he was shithouse for mine.

Fox was outstanding on Cameron. Put in more than double the performance of players on likely 3x as much money as him. Warner gave his all all day.

Mills had 13 touches - what happened there?

Hickey dogshit, to be honest. Ladhams is number one ruck for mine next year.

Parker had 23 disposals, 10 of them contested, and laid 14 tackles, 6 more than any other player. A lot went wrong today but Parker, as always, played his heart out.

Better to get to a GF and get beaten than to never get there at all. You guys got there ahead of 16 other teams. Although the game was the opposite of what all of us were expecting, sometimes shit happens. I just thought many of your young guys were over-awed by the occasion outside of Warner who handled the pressure really well. Parker was excellent too. I don't think any team was beating the Cats today.

Just simply not acceptable. Why pick Reid is the obvious one but in the last 5 quarters of footy, we have been so outplayed it is scary.

I know the players are hurting but so are we. It was just bad. Fox Warner excluded.

When is the last time we lost by 80 odd points in a match? Why do we seem to play our worst in a GF? Serious questions need answering. What are we doing wrong in the week prior. The last 3 grand finals are some of the 3 worst performances during the previous 10 years.

Its not better to get there and cop that type of performance if you have a crack and its a competitive game you can say yer we handled the pressure of the occasion well.

Ur side would of been more competitive today you almost got them just a few weeks ago.
