So if media speculation is to be believed, it will be:

Logue for future second,
Tucker for future third
Acres for future third.
Lobb for second (or future second)
Meek for chump change.

Here’s hoping senor Bell has some spare feathers for his cap because, aside from maybe tucker, that is looking pretty darn bad.

Wonder if Carlton a dumb/generous enough to upgrade our first for Acres? Get SOS back in there.
What would be the point? Our first is going to Melbourne anyway, so if all we do is upgrade our pick, which we ship off for Jackson, we’ve essentially given them Acres for free. I’d rather the 3rd round tbh.

Tarranto is worth the same in trade to Jackson in my opinion, given he has done better in the club best and fairest - I rate that as balancing the age difference.

Adding in Hopper too? That's a bridge too far.

I'm expecting it to be #12, #19 and their future first for Taranto and Hopper.
Yes and the Tigers are still getting off 1 late 1st/early 2nd light

In the scenario where we avoid using our F1 and satisfy the Dees with the best first we can get this year + 2nd + later picks/swaps.

It is true we could be as good or better next year, but I think it is a significant gamble trading our F1.

It's why we should use a CASH pick and get Bowes and Pick 7. Massive leverage for us plus a player that can play mid, wing and back.

Pick 50 for acres is a steal. Surely Carlton go down two spots in the draft to balance it out

We aren't giving up Meek for chump change. He's contracted so anyone that wants him is going to pay up for him.

I’ve been saying for weeks we won’t get a second rounder. There is simply no precedent of a fringe ruck being traded for that in recent history.

We might think Meek is better than a fringe ruck but a number of other good rucks have been stuck behind guns and have been traded for third and fourth round picks.

Pick 49 will be the basis of the deal unless Hawthorn acquire picks between 24 and 49. It’s slight unders so I expect other pick swaps but we’re not getting the value of a second rounder.

The only thing worth noting in that is the "MELBOURNE" subtitle (i.e. where the article comes from). We shouldn't even bother with Port. Who cares what Melbourne wants. So sick of these articles that have Melbourne's ludicrous demands, and expect that the poor non-Victorian club needs to pander to their wishes, while having a firesale of our own players for whatever scraps the Victorian teams can spare us.

Has anyone noticed how our pick 13 is now being stated as pick 14 in the media? Last year there was none of that when Carlton's pick 6 was on the table but was always going to be pick 8. It was always referred to as pick 6.

The Melbourne football club and Melbourne media can get ****ed.

Out of curiosity, if freo are unhappy with what Carlton are offering on trade for Blake, is there a nuclear option hypothetically? ie. delist and force Carlton to pick him in the main draft? Are there any pros and cons to that option?
Once Acres is delisted he becomes a delisted free agent and we get nothing in return.

We'd get around that for him next year. No point trading him NOW if we're not gonna get overs for him

No one other than Brisbane should be considering Ashcroft as part of the draft pool imo.

Pick 13 is still the 13th live selection in the draft.

I’d more look at late second round picks as potentially coming in 2-4 spots when Brisbane match the bid tbh,

Normally I'd agree but Meek is a little different. Contracted, 6+ clubs are interested and we are about to lose 2 other KPP players including one that has a similar role to Meek.

No way he goes for a 2nd in normal course, but there is enough there for us to do better than normal value. I think points equivalent of around 35 should be what we require to let him go. It's also perfectly valid to hold him if we don't get it. Happened to Xerri last year.

Any idea if Bailey Rogers could take the next step.

The fact that he hit the scoreboard, looks promising although his lack of speed would probably hurt at the next level.

Assuming Lobb and Logue leave, I would not mind a mature age forward and\or defender to provide depth and hopefully push for a spot in the 22.

Keital or Marsh maybe.

If we actually upgrade to pick 8 to handover for Jackson as well as our future 1st on top of letting Acres and co go for absolute peanuts I will
A) Apologise to Swiggy
B) Kick Bell in the nuts because that is shaping as the most egregiously bad off-season trading we've ever done.

If this happens and we miss finals next year, which is a huge possibility, then we're giving up 2 top ten picks and a future second.

Wow........sickening

Xerri is the perfect example of what happens when you ask for too much from a contracted ruck.

Personally, I quite rate Xerri and think he’ll be North’s number one ruck long term.

North Melbourne would be happy they asked for too much and therefore kept him on the list.

As I’ve said before - if we ask for a second rounder for Meek he’s staying. I’m happy enough with that outcome too if we can still get a third rounder for him next year, which I reckon we can.
