I would settle for 13 & F1 with 32 coming back.
Then grab 29 and a pick in the 50s for a Lobb, a F2 and F3 for Logue and Tucker, 28 for acres and trade 28 and 32 for someone around pick 18 and get back into the end of the first round here in 2022.
Use the 2 future second rounders to get into next years first round or else get a big name trade in the door in 2023
Worth noting there was a very nice post on the Dogs board talking about an ex-coach or list manager (not sure what his role was) who just left. Amongst a bunch of very promisng Dogs news, the ex-coach apparently was saying the Dogs are ALL-IN on Lobb. They want him a lot more than their supporters do IMO and they will pay up accordingly.

I think in some way shape or form, we'll come away with the Brisbane pick 15 for Lobb to use this year

Funny how people complain about how long Hughes takes to use the ball yet the same people want to play Logue in a back six that also includes Pearce, Cox and Ryan next year.

We keep using the excuse that Logue is a KPD however if we play an extra KPD we’re hurting our rebound significantly. Logue’s kicking and decision making back Hughes look like Barry Cable.

I’d rather Hughes in our back six than Logue except if one of the above three are injured.

I wouldn’t care if Logue sat in the 2s next year as backup key defender. That would be good for freo. I think he would inevitably get into the 22 anyway somewhere just like he did all this season.
Some of you seem to think you can only have 23 afl level mature players on the list and the 24th player onwards should be a developing kid.
Thats fine at the likes of north or hawthorn or Adelaide but That’s not how it works at the top sides. Do we want to be a top aide at any point?
Geelong had at the weekend:
Sam menegola
Brandon Parfitt
Jon Ceglar
Luke Dalhaus
Shaun Higgins
Ratugolea

All sitting in the stands at the opening bounce. They would all get a game at several other clubs every week. Some of those guys have played 200 afl games!

When the emergency was needed, they were able to bring in Mark O connor who’s played nearly 100 games and slotted in seamlessly. Not to mention players like Shannon Neale, Cooper Stephens, and some of those second round picks they took last year.
They weren’t relying on a child to play in a GF with 8 games to his name because all their mature players went to bottom 6 clubs.

Read a few quotes about Acres, Logue, and Lobb today. Infuriating how he brings up Luke Jackson at every opportunity.

"Acres is getting squeezed out because of Jackson."

"Logue is leaving because of Jackson"

"We need to trade Lobb to help fremantle get Jackson."

We offered Logue 500k for 4 years, we want to keep him and see him our future plans. Lobb is on baby money next year, no impact. We had the money for Acres but made it performance based instead. Anyone can see that Jackson really doesn't play a huge part in these trades. I'd argue that only Meek's decision was impacted by Jackson.

But what he's doing is making a 21 year old a scapegoat for all his players wanting out, so that the media can run with that narrative that we're throwing away the club for one player. Then in the future when something inevitably blows up in our face regarding one of these trades then the media pile on on Jackson will be unbearable.
It wasn’t a salary cap squeeze. We just didn’t think they warranted the money they were asking for. And I agree.

And Higgins, Dahlhaus and perhaps Menegola won’t be at the club next season. Higgins and Dahlhaus are literally beyond cooked - Dahlhaus probably wouldn’t get a game for any team in the competition.

None of these guys expect maybe Parfitt would be on above average salary. We’re talking money that’d make Logue in the top ten highest paid players on our list.

No one is saying that you can only have 23 AFL standard players on your list. Haven’t seen a single person suggest that. After trade period we’ll still have 28-30 AFL capable players and that’s without any improvement from 18-19 year olds who I personally believe will be able to contribute in a big way next year.

No one is saying you don’t need depth here but you can’t pay depth players 600k. Make no mistake he’s leaving for opportunity as much as money. He’s not part of our best back 6/7 and if we’re going to win a premiership he’s not in our best forward 6/7. You think Logue should happily play in the WAFL ten games a year when he earn and play twice as much elsewhere? Not a chance.

Our equivalents this year are Tucker, Hughes, Colyer, Wilson, Hamling, Blakeley, Crowden…

We’ve got Hughes, Hamling, Wilson and Colyer secured for next year.

Finally somebody seeing the light..!

Not that surprised, they would have seen first hand him flushing them from 50 in the pocket when he tore them a new one in round 21. And thought this is good get

If Hughes is so much better than Logue where is his $700k per year deal from rival clubs??
I watched Hughes 2 weeks ago on a wing in a wafl final have 8 touches on a wing. And I think most of them came in junk time. That’s his level.
I hope Hughes to the wing experiment is over, I don’t want him to be the Acres replacement. In that game you mention he was switched back to half back just before 3/4 time & had the majority of his touches back there & looked a lot better.
He’s a competent replacement as coverage for any of Chapman, Young & even Ryan so hopefully he continues training as a backman. He allows us flexibility to perhaps use Chapman elsewhere.

Everyone enjoying 12 hours of Tradio? Well I'm petitioning* AFL.com.au to get it extended to 24 hours.

To blatantly honest though Menegola, Parfitt, Cegler and Ratugolea are decent depth.

Geelong fans literally wanted Scott sacked at times last year for picking Higgins and Dahlhaus. They aren’t depth. They’re once good players that are cooked and were only on Geelong’s list this season because their deals signed a few years ago contracted them until 2022. Make no mistake - these two not playing and their replacements playing are a large reason why Geelong won the flag.

I’ve been saying this for a month hahahaha

I think we'll give something back like a F2, I'm not sure Dogs can possibly justify giving up a straight 1st for Lobb, even if it's 15
Given freo won't be able to replace Lobb with a swap of pick #15 and getting their F2 with the player coming to Freo I don't think Freo can afford to let a contracted Lobb go for that either.

I don't have an issue having Logue play seconds until an oppurtunity came up. But I think Logue has an issue doing that, given he's clearly good enough to be playing AFL and there's clubs that will offer him more money with more gametime in his preferred position. Hard to keep players under those circumstances.
