I agree it’s a lot but think will be 8 & F1 for Jackson & F2

I believe if the books were opened on all players pay we would find Cerra and Jackson paid almost the same, and not because Cerra is earning 900k

#8 and F3 is pretty close to Cerra's trade last year.

And if we get it done early then we can trade the Logue, Acres, Lobb, Meek and Tucker stuff to pad out our picks.

They love to parade around the rising star and premiership player, but really the cerra deal should be around the mark.

Cerra finished 3rd and 5th in our b&f in consecutive years. Was selected at pick 5, played 75 games, and actually had the numbers to back up his worth. Not to mention had just put up a career best season. Jackson played maybe 4 good games in 2022. He was selected two picks earlier than cerra, and has played 50 odd games. The money is similar. 750k for both of them. Both OOC.

But somehow LJ being a below average ruckman has tons more worth than Cerra being an above average mid.

Freo will have plenty of F2 come in, Logue… maybe acres. Melbourne might give one back? Don’t think AFL will have a problem with it

Its not really a strategy though. We don't want him (at least at market rate), I'm not sure why we play hardball and push him to the PSD to then lose him for nothing?

Cameron was 2 1st rounds and an early 2nd with 2nds coming back and Kelly was only 2 1st rounders as well.

Picks 13 and a first next year is more than enough even if something small comes back

Notice in neither the Kelly and Cameron trade, no one had to upgrade their picks...

If the difference is #8 and F3 with nothing coming back or #13 and F1 with a second round coming back I think I'd rather keep the future first and not have the second round pick.

But it also doesn't matter if they want the world. This entire period has been the Melbourne publicity window where they talk hardball through their media mouths about wanting high value for their player leaving after three years, he hasn't even nominated Fremantle yet publicly.

It's all part of the song and dance. Melbourne don't have the leverage to demand top ten picks especially when if we can supposedly trade for one with the value we would give Melbourne.. they can do it too with the picks if they want to.

Yeah and we asked for much more than 6 and a F3 for Cerra. When a player is OOC they really don't have much power over what they get.

Yeah sure however only this year they've done that with Danger... was a very different season for him in this year.
