Except he's blanketed forwards several times this season. Don't take one poor game and ignore all the good ones he played
Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan if his and he does have that ability, but his leg speed and capacity to rebound is why he's played over someone like Hughes.

Hamling is doing well and from reports doesn't seem past it. But he isn't best 22 either. If he is decent again next year he is ideally placed for a contract extension as our break glass in case of emergency KPD for a season or two.

Historically we have been poor at developing KPFs which is a concern for both Treacy and Amiss. Hoping Grayham is the solution.

Historically we haven’t drafted KPFs at high enough draft selections to expect a decent result.

The only real exceptions are Longmuir, Pavlich, Polak, Murphy and maybe Waterhouse if you consider him a KPF.

I’d argue that three of those had very good careers with injuries taking down Longmuir and Clive in their prime.

Polak and Murphy were 100% busts.

Maybe if you spent more time answering the question, instead of making ad hominem attacks thanks.

Who else would need to know in that sort of situation, and how is it any different than his move to Sydney, which was the biggest move in AFL history, and had not a single whisper?

I spent more than enough time answering the question. You chose to ignore it.

The rumour was Lions. The latest is he’s staying. That’s the ‘noise’.

His move away from Hawks wasn’t quiet in the slightest. GWS was all the noise. Swans then poached him with a massive offer that trumped GWS. That’s how I recall it. Not something that came out of nowhere, which is what would be the case if he came to Freo.

Lastly, again I feel stupid for having to explain, but clubs have these things called ‘list managers’. They manage the list. So I’d have assumed our list manager (it’s not Bell) would probably like to be given a heads up that Franklin was coming to the club. Now within that role they would communicate with player managers and in all that communication you’d imagine someone of Buddy’s appeal would be mentioned as to why player X can’t receive an increased offer.

Now I’ve already said lastly, but on top of all that obvious stuff that you have completely missed, Freo going for Franklin would be the greatest 180 of our current trend of recruiting young talent. It would simply go against everything we have done in recent years and for that reason alone would be incredibly unlikely.

Amiss has been great in the 2 finals if you put his game into context regarding age & experience. However he was given the opportunity to play as the 3rd tall. Treacys season has been full of interuptions, groin, ankle & glandular fever. The games he played this year he played as a 2nd tall. Big ask for a then 19 yo on limited preparation. I feel he played his role relatively well all things considered & we can't expect him to be firing on all cylinders after all the interruptions. Last year he played as a 3rd tall & had some good games (watch his highlights from Bulldogs game last year). Hopefully he gets an uninterrupted run next season. He does a lot of things that you dont get a stat for. Would love to see him given a go in the backline at some point. I do think Amiss & Treacy complement each other tho.

Really warming towards the Jackson pick up, if we can nab Georgiades next year.

Amiss, Georgiades and Jackson would make a pretty nice forward line. Add Sturt in and whatever smalls we have on the list at that point and that's a pretty good forward line. I know a lot has been made of the fact that Jackson isn't a forward but I reckon he could play the roaming high half-forward role pretty well.

This stat rates any kick that is over 40 metres and isn’t directly marked by the opposition as ‘effective’.

His 60m bombs to packs may be deemed effective disposals by this statistic but short of a contested mark they’re ****ing useless to the team. This kind of disposal is what loses us games like the one on the weekend.

He’s ones of the best interceptors in the league but speeding up his ball movement and taking more risky but potentially more beneficial kicks will make him a much more effective player (actually effective - not what that BS stat says).
I said he could be one of the interceptors and you brought up kicking. Doesn't matter if it goes ten metres if he does it quickly and finds a target who is then able to move it on quickly . He also used to be one of the best runoff players. .his role seems to have changed unfortunately. Clark doesn't intercept and run off. He stops and looks for a target. I would like to see Ryan get back to his intercept runoff game. I think players don't run off because they know they have to find a free target on the fly all of the time which they don't seem to have the confidence that they can do.. If we accepted that sometimes we just have to kick to a contest and setup for the possibility, then maybe they could run-off more and move the ball quicker. It doesn't have to be our go to method, but it should be an option so things can move more quickly from defense
Either way our work around the fall of the ball, especially on the wings is ordinary. No good reason for that unless we can't win a contest or we are setup wrongly or both. Time to fix that anyway.

Tabs & Treacy taking the best 2 defenders at Peel too, allowing Sturt to get on the end of a few. Teamwork makes the dream work

I can't understand the media's obsession over the mass exodus of players from Fremantle. Is it only about the $$ for these players?! why in hades have we had to put up with the lean years if, at the end of the day, it feels like so many players are not as invested as we are.

We'll if eagles had any decent players OOC im surely they'd be bailing too

7 just said Liam Henry will be staying at the dockers next year (I don't think anyone really bought into him leaving bs) but the narrative around everyone else still remains the same.

So Ralph now saying Lobb already living in his house in South Melbourne
One would think he would be spending some time with the girlfriend, strange if he didn’t. But it’s time for these media types to make issues about everything. Yes I know Lobb is leaving it’s just that this is such a non story with a thousand more to come.

I felt ripped off - he was the one I was the least upset about, other than Lobb

Surely Lobb can afford his own place

Celebrate In Love GIF by HBO Max

If I am Bell/Wallsy, first day of trade period I am trading out my future 2nd, 3rd and 4th so I can't trade my future first.

Then I'll call the Dees. Should I go ask Dan what he thinks of that?
Just combine the two and go for Ballsy
