I’m willing to bet that Carmichael will be getting games for us by the end of the year.

I’d also love to know who these magical key position players from the state leagues are whom would be getting games for us?

I actually think there are a few key position players in the state leagues who could come in and perform a role. Guys like Keitel, Hammelmann, Schlensog, Ballenden, McBean, Brand have the ability. I wouldn't be expecting them to be world beaters but they could definitely play a role. Those mature players who have already been in the system aren't a popular choice but I don't think that's because they don't offer something.

I agree with you but there are also other non-football ability characteristics that need to be in line also.
These role players also have to train hard, be good citizens, etc.
You can get away with being a Beams, DeGoey, Carlise, Milne, Stepho, etc. if you are in the top players.
As soon as your form drops or you have outside issues when you get older you are dispensible.
Guys like Noble, McCreery and Mihocek are clean skins off field as far as I am aware.

Playing as a mobile ruckman. Who knows if he would have made it in the AFL playing that role, but he was never going to have that opportunity at Collingwood.

Kid can casually roost them from 50 and also happens to be able to take a leap then crumb/goal off his own pack... A bit to work with there, even though highlights packages make everyone looks good.

Have you looked at our injury list this year? It's been only talls all year, yet we've still been playing a Brown every week. It's a bloody good thing that we haven't had injuries to our mids and flankers this year, because add 4 of our depth players in those roles and we'd be uncompetitive.

But again we have Macrae and McInnes knocking on the inside mid selection and for some reason our ******ed asses are playing a back flanker mid and a mid forward flanker

They’re not knocking on the door to get selected as an inside mid. Macrae is a long way off physically and McInnes doesn’t have the tank and is only considered up forward for selection atm.

I think I would have drafted him even with a bad attitude that talent level just too good to ignore, I said yesterday I am happy with Carmichael and I am but some of the things he did on that reel were just sublime a word used far too often but fair enough to describe him.

Speed agility leap and kicking it is all there I am going to follow his career with interest I can tell you.

Who’s coming for Macrae or Poulter? They’re tracking nicely, but have hardly been dominant forces in the VFL this year. They’re not children, they know they need to earn their spot in the 22 like everyone else.

Neale has incredible balance and is monstrously strong in the lower body. Clayton Oliver is 189cms and 87kgs which is a fairly decent size too. Finbar is quite a bit lighter and weaker than Oliver is through the core.

You're just talking nonsense. Oliver is an awesome AFL athlete. Blokes who can run with him can't match his strength and blokes who can match his strength can't run with him. I can't believe you're using him as an example of a mid who isn't physically good.

I can't say I've noticed that - I never noticed it with Dane Swan either when people said it. I noticed both of them out-sprinting, getting to more contests and also out-muscling their opponents a lot. But if you'd prefer a clearly defined 6 pack on a lesser athlete - fair enough.
