2 years ago it was guys like Murph, SPS & Ed Curnow with the ball in the middle, none of them could consistently deliver inside 50.

This bright & shiny new midfield has our forwards lining up now.

Shit, I reckon Murph would suit this side perfectly. He was brilliant and did a lot of heavy lifting which ultimately ruined him.

I know casboult is having a purple patch up at the suns but I think him not being in our F50 is making a huge difference - for the past decade for whatever reason almost every entry was to a multi player contest.

They still happen but there is a better understanding, imo, between McKay and Curnow; (and silvagni and the others) than I can remember.

Great win, to go from where we were at last year to being 6 - 2 and playing with such great structure, team defense and self belief is amazing.

We aren't settled yet and I feel like we have had to shuffle players a lot so far, if we can get the right mix together for the majority of the season ahead, we are in for a fun ride!!!!

Honestly there were times today where I didn't feel like I recognised the team I was watching, it just felt so un-Carlton like.

Particularly when we were chaining handballs, linking up well out of contests to get the ball to the outside instead of hack kicking it long forward constantly and hitting up targets on the lead I50.

I've seen other good teams play like that over the years, but never Carlton. So fun to watch!

Robbo and Gibbs were shockers for those hack kicks out of the guts. Would piss me no end.
The most annoying thing is that Gibbs was way better than that. An absolute elite kick when he didn't revert to the lazy, blind around the body hack bomb.

It warms my heart to see Carlton play smart footy. No kick and hope involved in so many passages of play except, on occasions, when Curnow is involved. What a freak! He’s a rare talent and I’m so excited for him.

The club should put a sign on Cripps warning the opposition of impending danger if you attempt to tackle him or you’re unfortunately the player being tackled by Cripps. He’s a brute at the minute. And then there’s the class in his game to kick goals and set up goals.

It was a team effort tonight and every one of the twenty-three players had their moments in the game. Boyd’s mark in the first quarter. Newnes goal in the second quarter. Harry’s snap in the second. Fish from distance in the third. Jack’s second goal in the third. Matty K from the boundary. Plenty more as well. Confidence is a wonderful thing so let’s get on a roll.

Can't know for certain unless we have their GPS numbers and/or training vision. Owies certainly does have repeat sprint ability, which could be why he is getting games over Motlop? Idk.
Owies has quite a bit of mongrel too. Doesn't mind getting physical. I don't know about Motlop either way.

I agree with this post big time.
Was just about to post the same sort of thing.
I didn't notice Harry and Charlie spoiling each other going for the same mark tonight.
