They have a pathetic midfield that cannot get near us for contested possessions. They don’t pressure. They don’t use it well. Wtf are are you worried about?
They pull off a (brave) game out of their ****ing arses...THAT.IS.WHAT.I.AM.WORRIED.ABOUT

By the way, how do * only have 56 posts in their review thread?

nope - and apparently, neither do you!

Typo, meant bag against us 🥴.. lol oops

There was one game where the guy behind me at etihad was banging on about us taking jaksch instead

We romped in v Pies on their 100 year game thingy. No worries v this lot
We defeated Collingwood in It's first VFA game, then followed up with every anniversary game....25th, 50th, 75th, 100th and 125th. Beating Essendon will be great but it doesn't come any better than how we have spoiled the Collingwood party every time. Blues by 39 this week.

This gets me every time.

I was filthy when this happened, it was brought up at half time. As Mick says in the call, 'it was a rank tackle'...

Fair to say its been wheeled out plenty of times since...!

Dog act...
Carrots was in blistering form at the time.

Atm - rain forecast every day for the entire week…

Made for our midfield and contested game…

And not suited to a really uncontested side. Eg a team that is:

17th in Contested possessions
18th in Contested possessions rate (contested as % of overall disposal)
15th in Clearances
18th in Tackles (2.5 std deviations away from average!!!)

You know..... softer than marshmallows...

Not sure exactly what thread to put this post in but there’s been a bit of talk about our path to finishing in the top 8 in this thread so will chuck it here.

Since the top 8 finals system was implemented in 2000, no team has legitimately* missed the finals with 13 wins. The one exception of course of is the mob we play this week who won 14 games in 2013 but were rightfully banned for their pathetic performance enhancing drug program.

The equation is pretty simple for us: win 5 of the last 11 and we will almost be locked in for finals.

5 of those games we will likely start as favourites: vs Essendon, West Coast, GWS, Adelaide and Collingwood.

The other 6 games we will likely go in as underdogs or at close to even money: vs Richmond, Fremantle, St Kilda, Geelong, Brisbane and Melbourne.

Clearly we are a bit undermanned at the moment but hopefully we see Harry back in the next few weeks and Weiters and Pitto back in 5-6 weeks. Despite the injuries, we’re still in a strong position to play finals. A win this week will really enhance our prospects. I’ve got no doubt the boys will crack in (as they have all year) and let’s hope we can sink these cheats.

I still think 13 wins makes the 8, but something to consider....

When you get an unusually high number of unusually bad teams (eg WCE, Nth, *).... it does lift up all others. So you might find this year that 8th has more wins than usual, 10th might have enough wins to make the 8 in other years.

But yeah, 5 more wins should do us. And 5 wins should be doable.
