My issue with ROB isn't so much his skill level, it's that he can't really execute anything with any degree of speed. Rucks can be slow in general, but ROB field kicking in open play takes that to a new level and makes him a big liability in a game style where we want it to be tight and contested.
I reckon it's because he has to think about how to kick and handball. It's not a natural instinct

That's very fair. He's like a tall Jake Kelly.

Probably the opposite if you care do a search..
Well to find the posts might be a little difficult but I’m pretty sure last year you criticised his ruck work.

But even referring to your earlier post “he has limitations but he’s our best ruckman until we draft or trade one in”.

That’s not a glowing endorsement of ROB, that saying he will do because we have no one better, now whose fault is that? We do not have one developing ruck on the list and over the years you’ve thrown up a few contenders. You happy with that or should Hamish have drafted one?

You made the statement I'd bagged him which was categorically wrong.

Hamish, Hamish , Hamish boring.

I love it because it makes me laugh at times, but in a finals game - it's going to be a liability if he's still around.

Well if I could be blowed I’m sure I’ll find posts of yours from last year.

He’s our head recruiter who is responsible for not one developing ruck on our list, so yeah, his **** ups are becoming repetitive and costly, but you’ll never bring yourself to criticise him even when this is a glaring problem.

Hmm, I can quote the posts but “ROB is a very ordinary centre bounce ruck” “beaten by a 14 game bean pole ruck” “no spring in his jump” amongst other posts calling for us to draft a developing ruck……
Yep I've been on about us drafting a developing ruck for years, unfortunately I'm not in list management...and yes Rob has had poor games but like I've said numerous times he's it until we draft or recruit a better option. How many did you find where I defended him...anyhow just go find someone else to piss off bwecause I'm done with you.

lets just all agree we need a developing ruck with craft and better foot skills. that seems to be the common ground

You defend him because we have no one better, not because he’s a quality ruck. So when posters are bagging him for his poor form, they are looking at the player, not that we don’t have anyone better.

Yes you aren’t on list management but we are here discussing the Crows, if you aren’t even prepared to criticise obvious failings, it’s a bit rich for you to then bag posters who do which you do. You just did it with ROB which started this and I called you out on it.

I've seen Draper rip games open, he has something pretty special, can go missing.

I think he'd make a great 1-2 punch with Thilthorpe.

He probably would but this guys, kristoff, just going by numbers.

Ffs..all this crap about ROB whether he is good, average, our best ruck etc...i just want the best mids we can get and that is priority no 1. We have some quite promising ones but we need more. Whether they rove to the best ruck in the league or a journeyman is way down the care factor for me.
Geelong have got by with Stanley for a few years now, as you said having the elite mids matters a lot more than the ruck. Far worse rucks than ROB have played in successful teams, it’s low on the priority list for me.

By successful teams, are you saying Premier teams? Name them.
