I agree ....there's nothing to suggest Taylor's an elite kick .....lets judge him after he's played in some high pressured AFL games

The word "elite" is so overused ......similar to young players being referred to as "star" players in their 1st season

Eh? I watched a LOT of him at SANFL level and i would definitely say his kick is elite, and he's VERY good on his opposite foot.

Yup, we have been fooled before with draft profiles suggesting players have good disposal then at AFL level it is shithouse. See Hamill and Murphy.

Signs are good for Taylor though as he has shown he has good/elite/excellent (whatever you want to call it) disposal at SANFL level also.

I thought both Hamill and Scholl were excellent by foot in their early games, Scholl now can't get a game after being nominated as a Rising Star and Hamill may not have a long career.

Some use these draft profiles as gospel and throw them up continuously

Elite is overused?

Old mate could only come up with three players in 25 years he was willing to call elite.

Surely there's a middle ground.

Taylor is an excellent kick, let's just let the kid be that and stop talking rubbish.

There's hardly a player draft profile I've put up that I haven't at least seen play multiple times or in most cases at least a dozen times or more. Same goes for guys like Cal Twomey, Ed Pascoe, Peter Williams, Michael Alvaro, Tom Wyman etc who pen those profiles.

They where examples of elite and suggesting him in that category I don’t believe is warranted old mate

But I form my own on what I see, without reading what they have written, should I read their opinions and just agree

There’s no place for a voice of reason in this discussion…

He is the best user by hand and foot by a fair margin over all our current midfield roster.....

He has excellent disposal.....you'll come around eventually.

Cal Twomey's predraft bio.

25. Zac Taylor

Midfielder // 180cm/74kg // 31/1/03 // Calder Cannons/Vic Metro

A sharp user of the footy, Taylor's trick is his kicking. He rarely wastes a touch and can be relied upon to hit a target and set up the play. The Cannons midfielder averaged 26 disposals in the NAB League this season, with a 37-disposal and 11-clearance game a standout. Although not big, he can make his disposals hurt and is also crafty around goal when an opportunity arises.

No one cares about pre-draft bio’s

Especially when used to evidence what sort of senior player they’ve become at a higher level

I think that Taylor has a very good kick on him, whether it is elite or not does not matter. His kicking is better than almost all of our players. The best thing about Taylor, from what I have seen, is his awareness. This is something that is difficult to teach. Soligo seems to have this trait too. Taylor's biggest issue seemed to be that he lacked involvement in the game. This picked up towards the end of the season. I look forward to seeing more of him next year, hopefully in the AFL.
