It's that time of the year where we're about to hit crazy season on the board.

In order to keep some order around the place, I've locked all threads except the standard ones that we have during the season - refer #5. Will leave the rate my preseason thread going until final lockout.

Any new threads that don't fit in to the standard structure will likely end up merged with either an existing suitable thread, or the General Chat thread as a catch-all.

Good luck to everyone - this is one of the toughest years to pick a starting side that I can remember.

On the loophole debate, I decided to start a D8 loophole, SDK at D7. Otherwise, I would have to pick a Sinn, or a J Smith or a Kemp to sit as D7, which doesn't appeal. I could chance NOD, but that extra 20K is useful elsewhere.
I am prepared to trade aggressively prior to Rd 3 pricing updates, if there is a decent rookie that emerges from nowhere.

Okay. I would have thought that seeing a rookie getting a high score even in fantasy was of some value, but you're the boss . Deleted.
Rookies are often playing against weaker opposition ....as experienced players are rested , played out of normal position ....or just rolling the arm over

Last years PS scores versus the season scores, show how misleading these games can be .....did we really learn anything that we didn't already know  .....maybe, Rowell, Touk, De Koning

I'm really looking forward to this game tonight, not only are we going to beat the Tigers and get our season started on a positive note.
Crippa is gonna get 3 Brownlow votes :D

SC wise, I've somehow ended up with three Blues players - this was not via bias but a value based proposition:
  • Crippa
  • Hewett
  • McGov
  • Short - I'm backing him to take most of the kick-ins and avg as much as Lloyd in 2022

Today for my two thousandth post,
I will shame my R1 who's a ghost.
The bald headed flog we call Gawn,
Who's chol is the size of Prawn.
In hindsight I should not have picked him,
I wish I could go back and pick Tim,
I wish that kent never was born,
Hope Darcy aint supercoach pr0n.
Sean Darcy ascends
Max Gawn, elite still, descends
Destiny lives here

MELB significantly fitter than BULL ......last Qtr, Melb running on top of the ground, Bullies players had lost their run, and looked out on their feet .....IMO that was the diff
Dunkley faded horribly
Even Macrae was a fumbling mess that last term. Cost himself a 150

Was so evident watching the fitness difference

Not really. Most of the players from last night and tonight are pretty standard. Arguably the same tomorrow night. It'll be the weekend games that start making a difference.

I think players like Cripps, Hewett, Martin etc could make a big difference to teams. For example Cripps is in 35% of teams. He could hit out a 180 or crash and burn with 70

So the mad hour is only an hour away now.
Will you bring in this years Tex as a last minute trade?
Or this years Tyson.
Make or break time is upon us.
Good luck all.
Forecast is for carnage with 100% chance of melts.
Can’t wait to scrap all my plans and bring in someone who hasn’t sniffed my team all preseason.

I'm already melting to myself I don't like paying more than I have to for a small forward and I'm in a :poo: situation I want Durdin to do well for supercoach but I also hope he spuds it because he is playing against the Tigers. Maybe a Tigers win and he gets 70Sc points would be ok:cool:

He will be my e if Martin isnt picked.
This round means less than every other round to come as far as price rises go.
I would be happy if he plays well enough to keep his spot.

CCJ confirmed as debuting, we still feeling solid on :cherries:?
CCJ is likely almost entirely forward, his ruck-work has been described severally as a WIP. I am happy to run Xerri - there are several options below him if it doesn't pan out. All the evidence to date points to him being groomed to replace Goldy and he'll get the benefit of on-field coaching. He gets the footy, too.

As a Bagger as well JD I couldn't pick Brackets for the life of me. Hope it works out for you but the bloke has Tom Rockliff burnman written all over him

Will either ping a soft tissue injury in the first 6 weeks or drop a 40. Bookmark it

Is gibcus a must, really don’t want to start him
Depends how much you trust the Minge. I don't think he's a must - if you have one of him/Minge + McCartin I wouldn't really be wanting a third exxy def rook (likely just to sit at D7 when you can use the 50k elsewhere)
