How about a five time best & fairest winner, all Australian, and Captain? That's what I'd go with.

Feel free to call him whatever you want though, let us know what you'd go with.
I don't have a clue which is why I asked - folks indicated that list clogger was a disrespectful way to describe a player who had been awesome and I am trying to work out what the non-offensive way would be to refer to a respected player who is still on the list but who will not be playing again (no one specifically just a conceptual inquiry) ...

Awaiting their lap around the MCG in a Hilux while we cheer and thank them for their service?

"Starting the 2022 season in the hot seat on 398 goals after no goals in 2021, Gunston kicked a respectable 32 in 2022 and moved up to 93rd place on the AFL top 100 goal-scorers list.

Dunkley finished his career at the Bulldogs one game short of becoming an elite top 100 game-player at the club! However, he did manage to climb into equal 95th position on the top 100 list of goal-scorers, equal with Coby Weightman and four previous champions (Charlie Sutton, Ross Abbey, Ian Low and Ricky Spargo)."

🧐 "Top 100" may as well be top 10,000 or top 7 billion.

If anyone's interested Ely Smith signed on with the South Adelaide Panthers today for SANFL season 2023.

Daniel never looked fit from before the start of the year but still played some good footy and gave his all.

I can see why Browny and co got into him after the Geelong final but he had plenty of mates and I thought it was very poor form to pick on him specifically. Just looking for a headline methinks.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he came back in better nick this year and perhaps his role can be modified in some way. I wouldn't be writing him off just yet.

Wasn't just the Geelong game. He stood off contests quite often through out the year, just didn't put in the effort to get to them.

Wholeheartedly agree with this too. Personally wouldn't call a single player on our list a spud or list clogger. Incredibly insulting thing to say to anyone who is giving their all week in & out for the club.

But to say it about a club champion who was a 2021 All Australian & clearly hampered with injury in 2022 was about as average as you get.

Even if Rich gets surpassed in 2023 he's still a champion & certainly not a list clogger. Great clubman can still play vital roles in the VFL as leaders for our developing stars.
Hey what's going on with Connor Mcfayden, noticed he us still uncontracted , rated him in his draft year but going into year 4 without playing a game is pretty unusual

Who if any, of the delisted players could be a role player/back up for us?

I don't that we need too much now. We're a pretty well balanced team.

What about Jarrod Lienert as a back up tall defender? I haven't heard a thing about the health/well being of Marcus Adams.

From what I saw of him this year, I thought that he looked ok. My St Kilda mate is a bit surprised that he got delisted.

That's assuming that we will have a list spot available of course!

Never really demanded a spot at a time where spots are really highly contested for. Even guys like Dev have been struggling to break in. Connor has seemed likely at times in different roles but never getting above a strong VFL player.

I hope we delist him, not necessarily because I don't like him, but because I kind of hope he goes to do a Keays with a second chance somewhere.

I would be interested in adding Narkle, Stack or Frederick if we have a spare spot to add to our depth. They all have great leg speed as well and I'd like us to add some speed to our list. Narkle would improve our midfield depth whilst Frederick could be a bit of a bargain buy.

Risky adding Sydney Stack but talent wise he is a freak. If he could become our own Tyson Stengle story that would be fantastic. I believe our culture is strong enough to welcome him in. We are close to winning a premiership and players with talent like Stack could push us over the edge Martin Pike style. The thought of Stack, Kiddy and Wilmot streaming out of our backline with Starcevich being the rock down there is a tantalising prospect.

Me thinks we can barely even give opportunity to average-good AFL standard players let alone another clubs delisted players.

I've seen a few posts from Mighty Lions about Marcus progressing very well with his recovery.

Nothing official from the club but I have it on good authority Mighty Lions is actually Danny Daly, so coming from a good source.

See, now that's how you start a rumour :D

Edit: The first line is true. The rest... a little bit of creative license. And by that I mean that I totally made it all up.

Can’t question the talent with Stack, was extremely eye catching in the early games I saw, thought he’d having a very promising career.

Richmond have a decent culture too, not getting the best out of himself their is a worry. Hopefully this delisting is a wake up and he realizes his potential somewhere.

Richmond couldn't get the best out of Stengle either whilst the Cats could. I agree though, he needs a bit of a wake up call to improve his dedication. His talent cannot be questioned. Yet to be seen whether his delisting is enough of a wake up call or if he will need to spend a year or two in the state leagues before realising he needs to pull his finger out.

There was a rumour around this year that he was looking to follow his younger brother back into cricket. However, he moved into defence in the second half of the year and was a bit of a revelation as an intercepting 3rd tall. The fact he's still on the list is suggestive to me that he might earn another year, albeit on the rookie list, to see if he keeps developing.

Is Frederick available or going to be ?

He's like grease lightning.

If there was any hope of bringing him in I'm all in.

Didn't he also spend some time in the 'probables' team over the preseason? I think you're probably spot on that he gets one more year on the rookie list to try and make a fist of it.

To be fair, lots of players rotated through the probables.

Is Sydney Stack the guy that punched up a chick in a parking lot or am I thinking of someone else?
