Do we really want to get into a bidding war for Blake Acres?

Thomas’s comment on Insta about the $$ and his social media show that he’s about a 10% chance to live up to his potential and buy into a team first culture. If we could get a pick around 10-12 for him you’d have do it. And bring in jr Rioli for a third round
Not sure that's how math works

I think we need to have a fresh slate kind of attitude, just wait and see what Clarko/Viney think of the players. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of players turn things around next year under Clarko.
This 100%. Absolutely everything that could go wrong did go wrong last season. There will be a few delistings (my guess is 4 - 5) who would have been let go regardless, everyone else starts fresh; new coach, new game plan, some new positions, new standards, new attitude it's all positive.

See a need, fill a need.
400k for a winger isn't much.

Who knows what it would take to get him. Maybe with off the books perks at Carlton we’d need to offer him 500or 600.

Throwing $$$$ at mediocre players won’t get us far. We’re living that reality now.

Acres is a good footballer passmore

Meanwhile, Essendon also has strong interest in North Melbourne’s Cam Zurhaar and might be prepared to offer a long-term deal of up to five years to secure him.

North Melbourne coach Alastair Clarkson has promised to leave no stone unturned to convince Zurhaar to stay at the Roos after he kicked 34 goals this year after being goalless in his first three rounds.

The Herald Sun revealed early this year Zurhaar had parked contract talks while he assessed the landscape but he retains strong friendships within the club and could easily re-sign at the Roos.

I’ve heard it’s the * coach who was instrumental in trying to lure players across….

According to yesterday's Age, *essendon has about $3m spare in their Salary Cap, so throwing a large contract at Zurhaar sounds likely.

Thanks mate.

Surely we’ll match the offer.

I like the " could be" articles.

Here's one that will appear later this week,

TAO could be playing for North Melb next year, the 54 yr old would bring a lot of life experiences to the North line up.

When asked whether this would eventuate he was rather noncommittal.

" Yeah look it could happen, and it was I think Dani Laidley who once said never say never. Or Dennis Pagan. I'm not sure- oh well".

"Actually it was Rhyce Shaw, no goodness, David Noble- hey why are you walking away?- come back".

It seems it's a free for all these days in the media.

Oh well.

So do we, so no reason we can't match it.... we will start having this problem soon once our young players become better.... LDU be next

It'd be hard to imagine there's enough money that would lure anyone to * right now.

The coaching and off field shambles, the looming shadow of Sheedy ready to blow shit up again and then the possibility of Hird returning.

Apart from learning that the bombers have offered him 5 years, there wasn’t much to it.
