Lots of list experts on this thread. Long is an above average defender that will bolster our defence.

I'd be trusting Clarkos expertise above some of the clowns around here claiming Long is no good.

So if he plays bonar you’ll be there with your pom poms

Need as many 25 to 31 yos as possible, probably three at minimum. Especially if Anderson and Turner are gone.

Some will be ordinary and gone in three years, just need someone to steady the ship and not blow up midway through a third quarter fitness wise. We have seen what happens to a team of under 70 gamers, just do not have the legs or pre-season to run games out.

If we can get as many of them using as little draft capital as possible, it's a win. Means we can land a Bruhn, or go to the draft etc.

Long could easily fill the intercept defender position we've been looking for.
Man's tough as nails and can take a decent leap.

Brad Hill is going to North. I'm not a fan, but looks like it's happening.

Take pick 5 for TT and run.
If he wants to go of course.
With a PP or 2 we could be looking at 3-4 first rounders which I don't believe the clubs ever had before.
Lots of good ready made kids this year
We had 3 first rounders in 2000 (Smith, Motlop and Harris) but later picks that draft got us Petrie, Corey Jones, Rocca and Pratt.

Right we are on world record pace for major trade. disappointment. So can we please keep a running tally of all linked players.

Bruhn
Long
Gunston
Acres
Hill
Rioli

Not a bad start, hope I haven’t missed anyone?
Gus Logie?

Having thought about it a bit, I'm not necessarily against the idea of Hill as a more offensive winger, as long as a few conditions are met:

1. St Kilda pay the majority of his salary OR we are given picks to compensate for paying more
2. We play McDonald on the opposite wing as a defensive winger

I don't think you can play Hill and another offensively minded winger on the other side, we'd get slaughtered in transition

NORTH OPEN TO OFFERS ON TOP PICK

NORTH Melbourne will listen to offers on its prized No.1 draft pick as rivals look at ways to move up the order.

A No.1 pick has not been traded since 2001 but the Kangaroos will be open to discussing a deal to see if they can turn the selection into multiple early picks.

There is an expectation that clubs will come for the top pick in this year's pool given the valuable nature of the selection, with rivals believing the Roos will field offers for the top choice.

The form of gun midfielder Elijah Tsatas and key forward Aaron Cadman, as well as the standout performances of powerful midfielder George Wardlaw before his run of hamstring injuries, could see a number of clubs be keen to push up the order and grab one of the trio.

Greater Western Sydney holds pick three but is likely to have a bigger hand of picks within the first round with potential exits of Tim Taranto and Jacob Hopper, while Gold Coast could hold two top-10 picks – its own at No.7 and Adelaide's at No.5 – if a deal is struck on Izak Rankine.

The Roos last year knocked back big offers from Adelaide and Richmond for the No.1 pick to select Jason Horne-Francis. They currently hold picks No.1 and 55 in the draft. – Callum Twomey

No clear first (like Jason was this year) really devalues our chances of getting multiple early firsts. We'd want 2 top 10s and it won't happen

Long would be an upgrade on Turner, Boner and Perez currently.
Best 22 easily.
Role players who can push our depth out to become depth.
Exactly what we need.
The three targets named last night are uncontracted.
PSD options.
Doubtful but it could cost us nothing.
He isn’t an upgrade on Perez. Hill has 2 years left.

He isn’t an upgrade on Perez.
Currently he is.
Much higher output than Perez.
Perez has more potential I reckon.
But he has been gifted games because our depth is so shit.
IMO play the kids has gotten out of hand.
I would be trying my hardest to rectify it this pre season.

Perez averaged more disposals than Long this year, despite Flynn playing in a far poorer side.
