I'm sure they thought JHF and Tarryn Thomas were going to buy in. There is no guarantee that their next draft selections will be better than those two.

Just picking Vic kids doesn't really help them because if the kid wants out there are 9 different clubs ready to feast.

Of course if they get the interim coach right perhaps that changes a lot. In which case if they keep JHF perhaps he changes his mind over the next year anyway.

Really hope the Lobb talk is just posturing we've held him one year already. Bulldogs have to come to the table with a reasonable deal but as long as they do get the trade done

We’re just tightening the screws on the Dogs. Lobb will be gone this year, which personally I’m fine with, but I reckon Belly and Walls are seeing what gets squeezed out under pressure.

True but someone posted some stats the other day that in 2022 we're still bottom 4 team for marks inside 50, even when we finish top 6. Getting some forwards and forward structure to mark it more, we need less forwards chasing tail. Might be a more enjoyable experience for us to watch too.

From that snippet I was excited that the way it was worded indicated we are getting something else chucked in, then Twomey made it sound like maybe that was overs then so therefore we’ll send something back. **** I’d be angry sending something back

Logue language was about what spot they can offer. Apart from $ it’s the whole reason Logue would wish to leave. He’s a defender.

I’m unsure what spot they can sell him if Pearce and Cox are our 2 key backs.

I’m an open Logue hater. If they can play him in defense I’m ok with him staying. Any other spot then he has to leave.

I don’t think he’ll stay and Walls language was more hopeful rather than anything else.

I should add that by play him in defense I mean back 2. Which is Pearce and Cox.

I don’t see how they sell any other position nor do I see how they move Pearce or Cox out of back 2.

He’s not a rebounding 3rd tall type. He’s not an intercept type.

Yeah, I don’t think they have a choice here, they aren’t competing any time soon so holding him to contract just delays getting games into his replacement and this could get ugly next year. Take the two firsts, get a sweetener with it and next time take the ridiculous offer for pick 1 when it’s given

I thought he had one or two excellent games and was otherwise meh. Coaches seemed to agree given where the rest of the backline polled in the BnF

That’s because we played too small, and played players who are not genuine forwards or can kick a clutch goal.
The ball comes out easily because of poor delivery and no marking targets.
You get the ball in quicker and give the forwards a chance one on one.
We’ve heard this all before with Ross.
Who are these outstanding defensive forwards at the Cats, Dees, Tigers?
Or are they forwards who know how to tackle, pressure?

I think difference is we clearly don't rate acres for some reason and didn't want to match the offer to keep him. Logue on the other hand we're still trying to convince him to stay. So I don't think we'll be as easy on that front.

He should have been played in the backline or not played at all. We robbed Sturt a chance of kicking goals for Freo who is a natural forward. Logue is a terrible set shot when others are naturally better than him.

He also could have replaced Walker down back. Freo wouldn't have leaked as many goals.

We are basically losing a good player for peanuts. Young could play wing and deliver to our forwards. It would help our supply forward of centre which is often our weakest part of the game.
