I'd still prefer Coops forward. We don't need another third tall defender but we need another KPF. He might have been good but realistically with Howard back we have way too many tall backs. Coops and Highmore aren't taking Wilkie or Battle out of the side.
again Cooper Sharman is the same height as Curnow who is part of the best or second best Forward duo behind Cameron and Hawkins.

He's young like Max King but being the same age they're perfect to develop together as the ultimate forward duo.

King as the 200cm main guy like Hawkins and Mckay and Sharman as the leading, running second forward like Cameron and Curnow. The blueprint works and we have a prospect in the right age demographic, size and shows the right attributes early to play that role

I reckon Dmac and Sinclair coming from the outer to become almost first picked for their position no questions asked would have inspired others to lift this year like Seb. Maybe Seb's resurgeance will inspire Billings to become a top player for us
Seb was played out of position all of last year.

I just don't see Batts ever being that guy. Would much rather a GOP Fullback to focus on the accountable stuff and let Battle off the chain.
Wilkie to keep doing what Wilkie does, then select the others as required. Coffield, Paton and Sinclair makes 6+1 on the bench.
Jweb gets fazed out, whilst Highmore needs to fight for a spot or trade out.

Pato, FB, Wilkie
Batts, Doogs, Sincs
Coff
Look tbh, I'm not sure whether Batts could lock down as well as May either, but at the same time he is improving in the key defense post so I think he could end up being very good in that mould of defender.

I still love JWeb, so hope he can stick around for another 2 or 3. I've said it before, I think he could make an excellent wing

I don't care who it is, so long as he can break even most of the time and releases Howard from the primary defensive role. The knock on effect it has to the other defenders is where I see the benefit.
Yeh that’s not many guys and even fewer that won’t cost us fairly decent draft collateral

If he was playing this well last year his form would have demanded this position. Something obviously changed for them to put him back in the mids
I reckon his move to the wing was out of necessity. With Billings injured and Hill just not working out, Seb was the only option at the time. The thing that changed is that we now have a number of wing options (Dmac, NWS, Billings and Wood to a lesser extent)

Dunstan form would have contributed to it as well. Couldn't play all of Steele, Dunstan, Crouch and Ross in the one midfield. Too similar. And Ross is the only one who could play elsewhere.

Sides that isolate an intercept marking back have an intercept marking back. Melbourne bring wingmen up to help defend which frees Lever from his accountable role. Sydney seem to bring a wave of players back who protect their designated marker at the SCG.

It's strategy as much as a position. Geelong have Stewart like the spare who just runs around picking off anything that enters. McGovern was a balance of both an accountable KP and interceptor due to his prowess and size.

Ross was often back last year like the wing/HBF hybrid role but sprint forward to make an extra mid. He didn't really get much out of it and neither did we.

To me that's not a huge priority. Forwards and mids or possibly wings. Dmac is the energy but could potentially be upgraded and Wood is probably a great depth option but could definitely be upgraded.

A good midfield and forward coach would do more for us IMO.

I agree.

A 2nd key forward, especially since it seems like Ryder is done, should be our main priority. Even more than another mid.

I know its been reported Lobb is going to the Dogs but he perfect for us and someone we should be trying to get. Otherwise we need to be scouring clubs depth lists to find one.

We could play Hayes as a KPF, he looks very good at the bringing the ball to ground stuff and a good compliment to King. The small forwards would love him. All our forward pieces look good at different times but never all at once. A really good coach who has some tactical sense could really have that humming IMO. If we don't chase mids get Sincs in and move someone into a rebounding HBF role to free him or trade one in. Lauchie Ash or someone like that would be nice. Maybe Nas could be groomed into that role.

To me you can't have enough good players but we have a good solid list now but it's not all firing. Replacing those wings look the most obvious thing for me. A high scoring small forward would be handy or at least some depth there.

Job description of a Barista

Push a button on a grinder, fill a container with contents of grinder, press another button.

Job done!!!

During lockdown I bought myself a proper Italian espresso machine and grinder. I thought like you until I ****ed up 1000 cups of coffee. It's more alchemy than science. I thought that the people that made coffee were all mouth breathing knuckle draggers but now realise that they are magicians practicing a dark art. I still make about one terrible one out of every four cups.

I wouldn't want to go into next year with a 26 year old rookie pick coming off an ACL as our only option as a 2nd key forward/back-up ruck. That would be a recipe for disaster.

I also don't understand the desire to move Sinclair out of the position he suits perfectly and dominates in. Sinclair wouldn't make a big difference to improving our midfield overall yet moving him from half back and putting someone else at half back would be a big downgrade.

Also spending trade/draft capital on bringing in more wings would be a bit pointless given we have bigger areas of need.

I use to run a busy pub, and I upped the coffee game by just buying decent beans and having the machine cleaned and serviced. Wasn't til I hired a moody young knuckle dragger til we started dishing out good coffee though. That kid would rub the grounds between his fingers to see if it was too fine or not fine enough. The strangest thing, people started to compliment our coffee. My god that lad had a disdain for people, he was mostly bad for business, but a wizard on that machine

Nah- once you get your grind rate right, with modern machines everything else is pretty straight forward. Set the pressure at about 9 bars, 20/25 seconds - perfect coffee.

They'll tell you all about tamping and tamp pressure but thats a lot of bs - the grind size is the key because that determines the flow rate of the water through the coffee more than tamping does.

And the flow rate determines the flavour.

Lol at recipe for disaster

It wouldn't be

Hayes and roma rest fwd/ruck with Sharman and king fwd
Members at chf

King and members can also swap
As they all can imo

Just because Hayes did a knee means nothing.
And what happens when one of them gets injuried? Or if Hayes is like many mature aged recruiters and never returns to the heights of their first few games? Or when Sharman continues to be the non-factor he has been up forward this year?

All we hear after every game is how King needs help. I don't want to spend another year lamenting that after every game because we don't actually get him any help.

It’s the opposite. Pure science. You simply just need to grind to a size that creates optimal resistance so that the water is in contact with the coffee for the required amount of time to get all the goodies out and not too much.

What’s your puck prep like?
