We have a low key issue when VFL guys are outstripping AFL players in our own team stats. Our top two plays have been Tardew and Booth. Can we honestly look at signing one of them? In lieu of say, Kelly?

No we don’t have issues. It’s healthy that we have a core of mature state league players performing well. Allowing the young blokes to develop around them.

AJ at times just jogs aorund the contest, I would like some more intensity when they have the ball,. though this whole game had plenty of low intenisty efforts, (well from the stream(,
He's playing like an old fashioned forward - low intensity except when he's a chance of doing something himself.

VFL listed guys and showing the AFL boys well up today. Booth, Glover and the Egg been really good.
+Jetta.

There will be a Brown in the seniors most weeks, as they're a fair way ahead of the youngsters out there. I like the look of Murley though - really smooth.

For the young guys Murley and McMahon have impressed me the most in the first half I’m sure Macrae will lift in the second half.

Glad we got reward for effort in that last 15 mins. It's been a bunch of mature bodied MEN playing a bunch of kids for most of that first half. The fact our more mature VFL players started to have an effect in that last few minutes was a strong sign of leadership. Their "physicality" has rattled a number of our youngsters (their ruckman has put his knees through both Begg and Johnston at contests whilst every other Bullant is doing their best to unsettle the young Pies.) Johnston has copped quite a few whacks on the back of his head going for marks as well. This is "old style" VFL footy!

Our tackling has been ineffective (not that its been poor, just a lot going unrewarded FREES to half time...11-4 their way!) and our mids have struggled to clear the ball with any speed.

For the record, Kelly has been OK down back, as has McMahon and Rough.

Should be a good second half. (I'd not be surprised if Begg sat out the rest of the game, he took a pretty big knee to the guts.)

Begg off half way through that quarter and didn’t return. When he left I thought he might have been concussed. But I’m calling it from my lounge so it might be an ankle for all I know. 😅
They look uninterested even though we have a lead there’s no energy.
