I'm hoping the Dees have their eye on Jordon Sweet from the Dogs. Who has yet to put pen to paper, this is why I'm thinking our first will have to go to the Dees - who can then give something to the Dogs who will then bundle it up to get pick 4.

You heard it here first:winkv1:
So… you’re saying the Dogs might take Ladhams? 😁 😜

Mckay essendon bound
Wow, so after 8 years of ignominy at North, he decides to escape to ESSENDON 😱
I'm thinking being part of something greater is not high on his list of must haves.

I wouldn't be sleeping on Francis. Has a much higher ceiling than we have seen
Totally agree, another pre-season with us and I think we will see a very different Francis to the one we saw this year.

Still would have liked a 2mt+ monster for the backline though

I was all keen on McKay but knowing Dodo was keen has me convinced he is actually an overrated spud.

I think the only trade in Dodo has won was Stringer?

Stringer is a win? Highly generous at best its a blank even trade. Two early seconds for what he's achieved since being traded?

He's had a contract in front of him all year and hasn't signed - I think you need to switch the causality.

Actually think there may be truth to it, mind you...you know my thoughts on McKay I won't clog the thread up with it. Needless to say I'd rather not get him.

If they are happy to take him, do it in a heart beat. Happy even to pay a chunk of his salary just to get him out of our system.

Don't agree, if we get Grundy it might be the thing Pete needs. We sell Ladhams we'd need TWO rucks not 1, that's highly risky.

This was a line from this morning's report:

"The Swans do have impressive young ruckman Lachlan McAndrew, who is contracted next year, but with Grundy and forward-ruck Peter Ladhams, it is the ideal ruck battery."

Okay - so Tom Morris is very accurate usually. So this can give us some confidence

If as reported a very cluey pitch hitting on the point of difference that's likely to appeal. Also stressing what's in it for Rachael, who sounds like a very smart and independent woman. Completely honest too. Sounds to me like Port really misjudged Grundy's priorities.

Can't see Pete in front of Hayden. But that's just me.
Edit: but Joel might be a different matter.

That is MASSIVE for us.

Grundy solves a TONNE of our issues and is an exceptional player.
When in form, which has been up and down since his big deal was signed, and not just around injuries. And for maybe 2-3 years.

I see Grundy as a definite improvement on the alternatives we currently have, but he won't be challenging for AA selection like he used to.

I'd prefer we keep both Ladhams and McAndrew as well, otherwise we face the same potential issues if Grundy goes down or regresses further with age. No experienced backup and no long term solution. If we lose one of them then we would need to hit up a mature ager in the rookie draft. I'm also bringing in May regardless (not turning down a rare and likely rookie pick academy ruck that was decent backup in a dominant Allies side).
