Wrong time to be posting, but I had to wake for something... anyway, looking at some suggesting Hollands out and, IMO, if game was played this weekend I would understand. But given an extra week of rest and his performance over the course of the year, I could see him remaining in the team. I also think Dow has been very good, but someone has to make way for Cripps and Docherty and, IMO, Dow has been extraordinary as the sub. I don't see sub as missing out, but a vital role also who will get game time.

How about something like:

Newman Weitering Cincotta
Kemp McGovern Saad
Acres Cripps Docherty
Martin McKay Cottrell
Owies Curnow Motlop
FOL: Pittonett, Cerra, Walsh
INT: Hewett, Hollands, Fogarty, De Koning
SUB: Dow

IN: Cripps, Docherty, Pittonet, Motlop
OUT: Dow (sub), Fisher, Durdin, Marchbank

Emergencies: Boyd, Marchbank, Fisher
Cunners?
Out or in?

Maybe Cotts?
Depends on who we have available?

Unlikely I believe

Can play a number of roles, wing, negating/attacking forward

Mentioned at the start of the year, the side not being blessed with speed, endurance runners would be important

Most important aspect of Cottrell's attributes that Voss would appreciate is his defensive intent as a role player

At this stage, I think he is a lock

Run with is one thing...stopping him is another.

Never thought i'd say this but he could be a job for Ed. Proven stopper.
Hewett also did this effectively against Daicos in the most recent meeting if I'm not mistaken?

If Cotts can do a defensive role on Blakey that'd go a long way towards nullifying their game, he creates chaos up the field and gets their running game going.

interesting selections for us........ Motlop for Durdin 100%.

Who for Crippa and Doc?

Could be Ollie for Doc on a wing? Ollie's impact has dropped off after a long season.

Fish was poor so could be him with Doc to half back?

Cincotta has been very quiet, would look at Marchy or even Boyd who was good before injury.

Cunningham has not had much impact so a re.jig with Crippa coming in ?

If Kennedy fit he is best 22 also IMO, but maybe sub?

What is up with Papley, will he play?

Our form has declined a little over last two weeks….

Slow start against suns but lucky we were able to turn it around

Good start against gws but tapered off badly

I’m a little concerned that maybe what Kingy etc are saying re it’s difficult to sustain the stoppage dominance style of game.

So are we fatiguing is the question I have in my mind…

I hope I’m just overthinking it and/or that we’ve simply adjusted our intensity based on relevance of last two games.
We are reliant on our stoppage game. IMO all teams at their best, we're a top 2 stoppage team, maybe top 1.

We have improved our transition game, but IMO are around in the 6-10 range. Not the best, but no longer crap.

Cripps is amongst the greatest clearest mids in the history of the game. Understandably missing him at his best is going to hurt our stoppage game.

I do think that the game has moved to favour the transition game, but I also think we've perhaps zigged when everyone else is zagging and our clearance dominance can be the point of difference we need to win it all. Whether it will all come together this year from outside the top 4 I'm not sure. But I think we'll be a good chance to win every single game.

Newman Weitering Cincotta
Saad McGovern Docherty

Acres Cripps Walsh
Pittonet Cerra Hewett

TDK Harry Martin
Owies Charlie Motlop

IC: Marchbank Cottrell Cuningham Dow

EM: Kennedy (if fit) much better utility player than Fisher or whoever. Also I would play SOJ ahead of Pittonet in this game if Jack is fit- but he wont be.

Hollands is unlucky toss up between him and Cottrell for mine. Cuningham lucky - prefer him in a final to others.

I don't think Ed could keep up with him pace wise. You just need to stop his overlap. I don't mind if he gets possessions in the chain or at the contest, but someone just needs to be back shoulder to make that overlap possession too difficult for him to take.

Where is Kemp ?

Ideal line up:

FB: Newman, Weitering, Kemp
HB: Saad, McGovern, Docherty
R: TDK, Cripps, Walsh
C: Acres, Cerra, Hollands
HF: Cottrell, McKay, Owies
FF: Martin, Curnow, Motlop

Int: Hewett, Fogarty, Cuningham, Boyd

Out: Fisher, Dow, Durdin, Cincotta
In: Docherty, Cripps, Motlop, Boyd

Sub: Dow or Fish

Only question on the above is do we drop one of Fog or Cunners for Pitto?

In all honesty, Sydney are not winning this game in 2 weeks time. Our inside game is truly terrible and that is one of your teams strengths. I am happy to make the finals but we are not going passed week 1.

Think it might be too hard for Kennedy - focus now is meshing fresh returnees with team and game plan - I’d limit changes to injuries from this game on.

Intriguing game

We will want to dominate the stoppages, an area where the Swans aren't strong

Swans are one of the better ball movement sides, an area that isn't our strength

The tactics to negate both sides strengths will be crucial

GWS showed the way with their small forwards pushing deep into defence and launching the ball through the middle on turnover

We need to be ready for Paps and co to follow that
